Any elector of the municipality who Is interested in serving as a Council member for the remainder of the current term, and who is qualified to do so, should notify the Clerk, in writing, prior to November 29, 1995 in order to be considered by Council at the above mentioned meeting. The meeting opened with a poem and the singing of the hymn Come Ye Thankful People Come. This was followed by a reading ''The Compulsion of Gratitude." Marguerite Krauter read the scripture, Psalm 100 and Ephesians 5, 14-20. Isobel Gibson led in The Evening Unit of the Brussels UCW met in the church parlour recently. Barbara Barton McMillan, president opened with welcome and poem. On Dec. 6 there is a pot luck supper at 6:30. The guest speaker is Nancy Beale of St. John's Church. Dec. 10 is White Gift Sunday. On Dec. 13 the UCW will be A good attendance met in the Lodge Hall for the meeting of Morning Star Lodge on Nov. 14. Noble Grand Betty Cardiff presided. A number of donations were given to Sunshine Committee, Santa Claus Parade, Children's Aid Society and United Nation Pilgrimage of Youth. The speak-off for the youths will be held in Clinton on March 1. The annual Christmas dinner will be held on Dec.11 at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program which will be planned by the committee in charge. Tickets will be sold on boxes of groceries which will be drawn by Christmas. Sister Jean Bridge won the 10 prayer. Thelma Cardiff had the meditation, which was based on "Remembering." Leona Armstrong read a poem "The Man at the Cenotaph." The singing of the hymn Blest be the Tie that Binds closed this part of the meeting. Helen Elliott presided for the business.
