the Council of the Village of
Brussels will be meeting on
Wednesday, November 29,
1995 at 7:00 p.m. in the
Municipal Office to fill the
vacant office of Councillor
by appointment.
Any elector of the
municipality who Is
interested in serving as a
Council member for the
remainder of the current
term, and who is qualified
to do so, should notify the
Clerk, in writing, prior to
November 29, 1995 in order
to be considered by
Council at the above
mentioned meeting.

Huethers host WMS
Melville Presbyterian WMS met
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Murray Huethcr for their
November meeting.
The meeting opened with a poem
and the singing of the hymn Come
Ye Thankful People Come. This
was followed by a reading ''The
Compulsion of Gratitude."
Marguerite Krauter read the
scripture, Psalm 100 and Ephesians
5, 14-20. Isobel Gibson led in

president opened with welcome and
poem.
On Dec. 6 there is a pot luck
supper at 6:30. The guest speaker is

The annual Christmas dinner will

will be planned by the committee in

Tickets will be sold on boxes of
groceries which will be drawn by
Christmas.
Sister Jean Bridge won the 10
prayer. Thelma Cardiff had the
meditation, which was based on
"Remembering." Leona Armstrong
read a poem "The Man at the
Cenotaph."
The singing of the hymn Blest be

of the meeting.
Helen Elliott presided for the
business. The offering was received
and dedicated. The secretary's and
treasurer's reports were read and

which she attended. She alsb read
about the missionaries from
Cambridge, who go to Africa in the
winter to help with native projects.
They come home and tend their
asparagus farm the remainder of
the year.

Mary served a delicious lunch
and a social time was enjoyed.
Onward Christian Soldiers was
sung.
They closed with all repeating In
Flanders Fields.
