By Lacey McCall and Jenna Fischer On Thursday, Oct. 26 the Early years to Grade 4 pupils went to Blyth Festival Theatre to see Let's Do Munsch. There was lots of laughter and excitement. The props were painted boxes, boards and ropes that were changed around. The musician was Arlene Darnbrough, who also played the Mother in Millicent and The Wind. It got the kids attention. just a few seconds. He stressed that we should check the battery in our smoke alarms twice a year and that each family should have an escape plan. It is important that each room has two exits. We would like to thank you Mr. Gaunt for visiting our school during Fire Prevention Week. The students presented Halloween cards which they had made to their resident Continued on page 26 Board of Education came and talked to us about bus safety and evacuation. We watched a video, which showed us how to get off the bus safely in case of an emergency. After the assembly the students on each bus took turns practising bus evacuation. We learned how to keep calm and the older students were told if there ever was an emergency to stay with the younger students. It was a very good experience for the students. We hope that we never encounter an emergency, but if we do, we will know what to do.
