you were a teacher you would pick
another staff member and dress
alike. The following people were
the winners of Twin Day. Teachers,
Mrs. Vair and Mrs. Robinson;
Grade 2, Levi Cook and Mark

On Tuesday, Oct. 31 Grey
Central was filled with spooks and
goblins. We had a costume parade.
Three people out of each class from
kindergarten to Grade 4 were
picked for the best costumes.
After the costume parade we
played games. The Students'
Council organized these games. We
went to play spoon relay. We put a
life saver on a spoon and had to
walk all the way to our team and sit
down first.
Then we went to play dodge ball
with two balls. Next we went to the
spooky, gruesome, haunted house.

and Becky Logan.
Congratulations to all the
winners!
FIRE PREVENTION
ASSEMBLY
On Monday, Oct. 12, Mr. Harley
Gaunt, who is Wingham's Fire
Chief visited our school to talk
about fire prevention. He also
showed a video which proved to us
how quickly a fire can spread in
After that we played musical
chairs.
Grades 5 to 8 had a Halloween
dance.
LET'S DO MUNSCH!
By Lacey McCall and
Jenna Fischer
On Thursday, Oct. 26 the Early
years to Grade 4 pupils went to
Blyth Festival Theatre to see Let's
Do Munsch. There was lots of
laughter and excitement.
The props were painted boxes,
boards and ropes that were changed
around. The musician was Arlene
Darnbrough, who also played the
Mother in Millicent and The Wind.
It got the kids attention.
just a few seconds. He stressed that
we should check the battery in our
smoke alarms twice a year and that
each family should have an escape
plan. It is important that each room
has two exits. We would like to
thank you Mr. Gaunt for visiting
our school during Fire Prevention
Week.
BUS SAFETY ASSEMBLY
On Thursday, Oct. 19, Mr.
Dennis Harris, transportation
manager, for the Huron County
VISIT TO HURONLEA
On Tuesday, Oct. 24, Mrs.
Whitmore's Grade 7/8 class had
their first interlink with Huronlea.
They dressed in Halloween
costumes and paraded around the
foyer, much to the pleasure of the
residents.
They had prepared Halloween
ornaments of cats, bats, ghosts,
pumpkins and spiders and assisted
the residents in putting the
ornaments on a tree which was then
displayed in the foyer for the
Halloween season. The students
presented Halloween cards which
they had made to their resident

Board of Education came and
talked to us about bus safety and
evacuation. We watched a video,
which showed us how to get off the
bus safely in case of an emergency.
After the assembly the students
on each bus took turns practising
bus evacuation. We learned how to
keep calm and the older students
were told if there ever was an
emergency to stay with the younger
students.
It was a very good experience for
the students. We hope that we
never encounter an emergency, but
if we do, we will know what to do. Grey Central Echo
