Club plans holiday party

Members of the Belgrave Guides welcomed some new girls to the group during an
enrollment ceremony last week. With leaders Barb Pletch, left and Carol Moran are, from

Halloween party full of fun
movie passes to the theatre in
Wingham. Second prize winners
received orange chocolate
pumpkins and third prize winners
won a bag of potato chips and a can
of pop. All judges were thanked
with a Halloween 'scratch and win'
lottery ticket.
The 1st Belgrave Brownies and
Sparks held a Halloween party at
the East Wawanosh Public School
on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 7 to
8:30 p.m. Fun was enjoyed by all.
Prizes for the best costumes in
the following categories were as
follows: Preschool - 1, first, Shaina
Carter, pumpkin; second, Kaytee
and Cody Richmond, puppies;
third, Alicia Appleby, angel.
Judges were Barb Black and Barb
Pletch.
Grades 2-3, first, Nicole Walker,
second, Nicole Meier; third,
Andrew Procter. Judges were
Donelda Cottrill and Carol Moran.
Grades 4-5, first, Chris Cottrill;,_
second, Kristen Palmer; third,
Emily Elston. Judges were Candice
Chaffe and Deb Appleby.
Grades 6-8, first, Colleen
VanCamp; second, Heidi Meier;
third, Lisa Black. Judges were
Sherry Sippel and Heather
McIntosh.

Nov. 1 at the regular time. Those

Higgins and Laura, Linda Hess and
Andrew, Pat Konings, Olivia and

The regular meeting of the
Belgrave Community Club was
held on Friday, Nov. 3 with 26
members present. President Bob
Grasby presided.
The meeting opened by singing
0 Canada, accompanied by Freda
Johnston at the piano.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read and adopted. The
treasurer's report was given by
Gordon Bosnian.
The date of the Club's Christmas
dinner has been changed to Dec. 8.
The following anniversaries were
recognized - George and Doris
Michie, and Lloyd and Lillian
Appleby. Jane Grasby celebrated a
birthday.
A discussion was held regarding
shuffleboard and it was agreed that
it start Thursday, Nov. 9. The
meeting adjourned and cards and
shuffleboard were enjoyed. The
next meeting will be Friday, Jan. 5.
Euchre set for Nov. 8
The euchre was held at the
Women's Institute Hall on
Wednesday, Nov. 1.
Winners were: high lady, Agnes
Gaunt; most lone hands, Kay
McCormick; most zeroes, Ada
Taylor; low lady, Jean Pattison;
men's high, Gordon Thedorf; most
lone hands, Ross Taylor; most
zeroes, Helen Daugherty; low,
Ilene Miller, playing as a man. The

How much?
There was a good turnout for the East Wawanosh auction
held at the Public School on Saturday evening. Auctioning
off some maple syrup are Paul McKee, left and Brian
Rintoul.
