Mark Hunter takes his best shot on the visiting goalie, Nathan Montgomery, when the
Brussels Atom Rep team faced off against Bayfield in a home game on Friday night.
Unfortunately for Montgomery there were too many shots on net, and the host team skated
away with an 8-2 win.

As this past weekend's efforts
proved, you win some, you lose
With a skeleton squad on ice, the
Brussels Bulls were defeated by a
hometown Hanover Barons team
on Friday evening.
Despite being short-handed by
seven injured or suspended players,
Coach Mike Henry said his Bulls
still managed to outshoot the
Barons, though losing it 3-0.
Also, Henry said he was proud of
the way the team played, pulling
together in what was a "very clean,
low penalty game."
On Sunday, the Bulls hosted the
winless Wiarton Wolves and glided
to an 8-2 victory.
The Blyth PeeWee Rep hockey
team opened its schedule on the
road in Brussels last Friday night.
Blyth came out skating and
dominated the first period, however
could only manage a 1-1 draw at
the end of the period.
Blyth's hard work and nifty
passing resulted in four second
period goals to break open the
game. Brussels scored near the end
of the second period to finish the
second frame at 5-2.
Blyth netted three more in the
third to finish the game with an 8-2
victory.

81s edged Brussels 7-6 Friday
night to give the Crusaders their
first loss of the season.
Rick Boon, Darren Akey and
Ron Strome also scored for
Brussels, who led 3-0 after 20
minutes but were tied at four after
two periods.

Brian McNichol scored his first

were Steve Henderson, with two,
Cory Bridges and Peter Ryter, each
with a short-handed goal and Mur-
ray Kaye with one.
"Again it was a very disciplined
game. The team avoided a lot of
Wiarton's garbage and the penalties
were low, which is something
we've needed to improve upon
immensely," says Henry.
Noting that the team has outshot
the last four clubs it has faced,
Henry feels confident that this is
going to start to pay off. "We've
had a lot of bad luck, some bad
breaks, hitting posts, hitting the
crease, but it looks now like the
puck is finally starting to bounce
our way."
Blyth goal scorers were Dave
Ansley, Joel Arthur and Drew
Cornell each with two, and Jeremy
Van Amersfoort and Matt
Anderson.
Assists went to Shawn Bromley,
three; Van Amersfoort, three;
Ansley, two; Darrell McDougall,
Tyler Stewart, Arthur and Comeil.
Although not on the score sheet,
Derek Cook, Bryce Toll, and Adam
Anderson played a strong game
while Dean Wilson was solid in the
Blyth net.
