Brussels Livestock report Goats sell over wide range, $35 to $167.50 Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending Aug. 25 were: fed cattle, 605; cows, 138; veal calves, 210; sheep & goats, 227; stockers, 824; and pigs, light run. The market at Brussels Livestock saw fed steers and heifers selling $1 lower. Cows sold $1 higher. On Thursday veal sold on a steady active trade. Lambs sold steady to last week. On Friday calves and yearlings sold on a strong active trade. There were 384 steers on offer selling from $86 to $89 to the high of $94. Forty-one steers consigned by Cunningham Farms, Lucan, averaging 1338 lbs. sold for an average of $86.71 with sales to $94. Rd. 16, on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. In helping to organize the Gra- ziers Network in Western Ontario, Prior says the objective of the groups is to give farmers the oppor- tunity to walk through different grazing operations, learn from other graziers regarding manage- ment, network for the exchange of ideas and educate each other. The group also hopes to produc- ing a graziers' newsletter. The informal gathering will allow farmers with grassroots expe- rience-those with their hands in the dirt-to discuss concepts of pasture management, controlled grazing and water systems (among many other issues) says Prior.
