Sunday, July 23 was a busy day
for the Brussels Mennonite
Fellowship congregation.
Mervin Lichty was worship
leader at the Sunday morning
service. Thelma Steinman was song
leader and Manivan Larprom was
pianist. Teresa Farrell and Christy
Pardys led the children's singing.
Guest speaker was Roy Callahan
from Virginia. He stressed the
importance of relationships, both
with God and with fellow man.
Michelle Lichty read the
scripture passage: Acts. 2: 42-47.
Donna Callahan from Virginia and
her sister-in-law, Thelma Steinman,
provided special music by singing a

GLADYS VIOLA TABB
Former Auburn resident Gladys
Viola Tabb of Braemar Nursing
Home, Wingham, died at Wingham
& District Hospital on July 20,
1995.
Born 89 years ago, July 12, 1906,
in Hullett Twp., the former Gladys
Thompson was the son of John and
his wife Rachel (Walden). She
married Torrance William Tabb,
who predeceased her.
Mrs. Tabb was a member of
Knox United Church, Auburn.
She is survived by her cousins,
Dorothy Scott, Blyth, Ralph Cald-
well, Blyth and Elva McClinchey,
Goderich.
Marjorie McDougall delivered
the eulogy at the funeral service
held on Saturday, July 22 at the
Beattie-Falconer Funeral Homes,
"Tasker Chapel", Blyth. Rev. Paul
Ross was the officiating clergy.
Pallbearers were Don Scott, Bob
if they knew what the word "bids"
means. Jesus asking you to shine
for Him is like looking in a mirror
he said, reflecting how He wants
you to shine for Him. The only
way, he said, is by doing the things
on earth as if He were here right
now. Joy, Joy, Joy Down in My
Heart was sung.
Helping others is something you
can do to shine for Jesus, Mr.
Cowan said.
The anthem Since Jesus Came
Into My Heart was sung by the
choir, accompanied by Mrs. Boak.
Scripture readings were Matthew
piano solo for the offertory.
Eleven youth and leaders are
travelling to Witchita this week to
attend the Mennonite Youth
Convention there. During the
Sunday service they were each
recognized and given God's
blessing for their trip and revival
session.
On Sunday afternoon, several
members of the congregation put
on a service at Huronlea. Margaret
MacLeod gave the meditation.
Darlene and Anne Hemmingway
sang a duet. Anne Hemmingway
was worship leader, and Christy
Pardys was pianist.
On Sunday afternoon an evening
social time of fellowship was held
at Martins' Landing, At the home of
Scott, Wayne Caldwell, Leslie
Caldwell, Jack Caldwell, Harold
McClinchey.
A graveside service was held at
Colborne Cemetery.
CLARA MARGARET RILEY
Clara Riley of Londesboro died
in Hensall on Tuesday, July 18,
1995. She was 76.
The daughter of the late William
Lome Hunking and Rosella Lyon,
Clara was born in Hullett Twp., on
July 29, 1918.
She was employed at Huronview
Home for the Aged as mail clerk
and tuck shop operator. Clara was
very active in the Londesboro com-
munity and was a past recipient of
the Citizen of the Year award
A member of Londesboro United
Church, Clara enjoyed visiting with
seniors and volunteered at Hullett
Central Public School.
She was the beloved wife of John
Henry Riley, who predeceased her
in 1980. She will be lovingly
remembered by her children Arnold
and Bev Riley of RR1, Londes-
boro, Carman Riley of Londesboro
and Marie and Bruce Kelly of
7: 7-12 and Matthew 8: 1-3, 5-10,
13.
The sermon was ''Help Me
Lord", God is real, Mr. cowan said.
He is able to help us and always is
there.
Pray involuntarily without
thinking, he said. You have to put
God first and let Him be in your
life. God has a plan for all of us.
When God speaks to us we must
listen and obey Him. God is alive,
just waiting for us to say that we
are helpers. "Help me Lord and He
will help you."
Mr. Cowan rendered the
Alice and Howard Martin. A BBQ
supper, sports activities, boating
and visiting preceded a campfire
sing-a-long.
Next Sunday, Rob Collier, from
Kincardine will be the guest
speaker, and Joyce Farrell will be
worship leader.
The Summer Adventure Program
held initial sessions this week for
community children. This program
will continue for four more weeks.
Christy Pardys and Teresa Farrell
are in charge of the program this
summer.
On Wednesday, July 26 the
Grade 3/4 class will hold the
monthly activity at Martin's
Landing.

She was the dear sister of Lorne
and Addie Hunking of Londesboro
and Marion and Ben Riley of
Goderich. Andy Riley, Vicky
Riley, Clinton Riley, LeeAnne
Riley and Kathryn Kelly-McInnis
are also left to mourn the loss of
their dear grandmother.
Besides her husband, Clara was
predeceased by a granddaughter,
Heather Riley.
Rev. Paul Ross officiated at the
funeral service held on Saturday,
July 21 at 10 a.m. at Beattie-Fal-
coner Funeral Home "Tasker
Chapel".
Carrying Clara to her final rest-
ing place at Hope Chapel Cemetery
in Hullett Twp. were Lorne Dale,
Milton Dale, Tom Duizer, Clint
Riley, Andy Riley and Art Hunk-
ing. Flowerbearers were Vicky and
LeeAnn Riley and Kathryn Kelly-
McInnis.
