The news from Parish
On Tuesday, July 18 a bus trip
with Robin Hood Tours was
enjoyed by 40 people, who were
primarily seniors from Londesboro,
Blyth, Auburn and Clinton.
This tour was arranged by Edythe
Beacom. The tour guide was Betty
Elphick of Lucknow.
Places visited were Aylmer Flea
Market, Train ride at Port Stanley
and Swain's greenhouses at Eagle.
This was a very enjoyable day.
The Seniors Dance at Londes-
Greeters at Londesboro United
Church on Sunday, July 23 were
Heinrich. Ushers were Cheryl and
Doug Trewartha.
Shannon Scott sang a solo,
accompanied by her father, Ken, on
the guitar.

in loving memory of Clara Riley.
The sermon topic was
On July 10, the fourth 4-H Beef
Club meeting was held at the home
of Doug How att.
When everyone got there they
did some reading about systems to
sort cows, bulls and pregnant cows,
feeders and stockers, according to
weight, feedlots, reasons for
finishing, getting ready for market
without stress, trucking do's and
don'ts and methods of selling
finished cattle.

Riley and family, Carmen Riley
and family, Marie Kelly of Thunder

Marion and Ben Riley of Goderich,
on the passing of their mother and
sister, the late Clara Riley. Clara
was a Londesboro resident for
many years.

Fothergill and June Johns attended
the Summer Event at Siloam
United Church, London on
Saturday, July 23.
Before the next meeting they are
expected to write down all the
different styles of beef they have
eaten for supper.
Towards the end of the meeting
they went out to the barn and Doug
showed them how he weighs and
tags the cattle. He also showed
them how to feed them.
The next meeting is being held at
the home of Paul Coultes at
7:30 p.m. on Aug. 7.

Rev. Paul Ross led the service at
Knox United Church. The flowers
in the sanctuary were from the
funeral of the late Viola Tabb. The
invitation to worship was given,
followed by the opening chorus.
0 Sing A New Song to the Lord
was sung. Rev. Ross gave the
prayers followed by choral
response. The children's chorus was
sung. The New Creed was read in
unison and the choral response
sung. Scriptures were read
followed by the hymn God Moves
in Mysterious Ways.
Rev. Ross's message was
"Discovering God Anew - Part 6;
With the disciples at the Cross."
The offering was taken and
dedicated. Hymn How Firm a
Foundation was sung. Rev. Ross
pronounced the Benediction.
A smorgasbord couples supper
was held at the home of Vernice
and Eric Prescott Saturday after-
noon in honour of the August wed-
ding of Lois Hart, Brussels and
Mervyn Schneider, Moorefield.
Anne Exel read an address to the
couple who was then presented
with a few gifts for their new home
from the friends and neighbours in
attendance.
Congratulations to Ben and Hen-
nie Terpstra on the arrival of a new
granddaughter Marly Michelle.
A community bridal shower for
Amy Terpstra was held at St.
Ambrose Church Brussels, Monday
evening.
Grace Smith, Alvin McLellan
and Bill Dobson hosted 13 tables of
euchre at the Ethel Hall.

the afternoon.
