Council okays payment Letters THE EDITOR, I am writing to ask for some help from you and your readers. I am currently in the process of collecting photos for a book about the Guelph to Goderich Railway. The line was opened in August of 1907. Canadian Pacific Railway leased the line. The line ran through the following towns and villages: Guelph, Weisenburg, Elmira, Wallenstein, Linwood, Millbank, Milverton, Mornington, Monkton, Moncrieff, McNaught, Walton, Blyth, Auburn, Colborne, Goderich. All photos, showing any aspect of this railway line, will definitely be considered for publication. The book is being sponsored by Dr. John Mull of Canadian Medical Laboratories Limited. Any help locating these photos or people who may have some of these photos would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me by mail or call (519) 837-2718. Sincerely, Cord Smith 176 Willow Rd., Guelph, ON N1H 1W8 Correction The name of one of the host fam- ilies for the girls from Belarus, near the Chernobyl disaster, was incor- rectly reported. Sally and Tim Lowey and family are hosting a youngster. We apologize for the error. THE EDITOR, How many citizens of Blyth, ever stop and consider how important our two village employees are to us? Yes, I am referring to John Rinn and Bill Bromley. This summer has been very hard and frustrating for them with pipeline crews to tend to, plus the usual day to day town work, as well as the bad storm we had. All this they had to cope with. Even their wives were getting phone calls from very impatient people who wanted their mess cleaned up on the spot. I spoke to Mrs. Rinn, who said she would give John the message and true to her word, several days later our branches and limbs were cleaned up. Some people are so impatient; the debris wasn't going anywhere. We have to give the men a chance. John and Bill are not just village employees. They are husbands and fathers, who have seen very little of their families during the past few weeks. My hat goes off to you John and Bill and many thanks for a job well done. Maybe now you can catch up on some sleep. Ella Gwyn. Truck stolen from residence A theft in East Wawanosh is cur- rently under investigation by offi- cers from the Wingham OPP detachment.
