THE EDITOR, As we are getting closer to election day there are a few points we should remember. We should count our blessings as we live in Huron County which is high in agricultural production. Some very large industries are very prosperous. There are also many smaller and many family businesses. In the past five years we have received a great deal of support from the provincial government. Many fann programmes have been introduced and supported which have been very beneficial to She wed George McGowan on July 31, 1920. Mrs. McGowan was a telphone operator before her marriage and returned to the job later in life. She has been active in the bridge club, United Church Women, Ladies Auxiliary and Eastern Star. grandchildren: Sheila and Joe Hal- lahan, Keny and Michelle; Sandra and Bill Rathwell, Krista and Scott; Jim and Janice Henry, Andrea, Shaun, Michael and wife Sandy and great granddaughter Cassie; John and Lynne Henry, Devon; Ron and Marylou Henry and Stacey and Neil Henry. The Henrys had another grand- daughter, Stephanie, who passed away in 1992. Mr. Henry farmed throughout his life while Mrs. Henry was a teach- er. They are also members of the Anglican Church. farmers. Much credit goes to Paul Klopp, our MPP for his hard work and ability as assistant to the Minister of Agriculture Elmer Buchanan, who has been good to the farmers of Ontario. As well many other projects and grants have gone to many communities. In fact I can not remember when more money and effort came to Huron County from Queen's Park. So in closing we should remember all the help given to Huron in the past ,five years through our MPP Paul Klopp. J. Currie. The contract for the construction of the new municipal office in Hul- lett Twp. was entered into by coun- cil, at the May 16 meeting. Blyth Construction Ltd. won the contract. Many hands were busy rolling beeswax candles, making egg Santa Clauses and ceramic Christmas trees for our annual craft and bake sale in October. Bus trip season is here again. The June bus trip has been set for June 29 to Grand Bend Pinery Provincial Park and the Lambton Heritage Museum with a picnic lunch en route. Anyone interested should call 357-1440. The Centre is participating in the Summer Active Program by going Letters Writer seeks PC support THE EDITOR, Since March of 1991, I have been- supportive of the policies of the Federal Reform Party, particularly those policies relating to deficit and debt reduction. With the provincial election set for June 8, I have had to consider which provincial party has the policies which I can support. There has been some discussion about a possible Reform movement in Ontario. You may have seen in The London Free Press last week the article relating to "Reform" candidates in Ontario. The Federal Reform Association is not fielding, supporting, endorsing or even encouraging any candidates to run in the Ontario provincial election. Any candidates that do run are doing so as independents, and without the support of the Reform Party of Canada. As I see it, any such independent candidates will only have the effect of splitting the vote amongst those voters supporting deficit and debt control. We all want Bob Rae to be defeated. The best way to ensure this, is to put our full support behind the only viable provincial party, the Mike Harris PC Party. I have reviewed in detail the PC policies set forth in the Common Sense Revolution. Mike Harris has indicated he will introduce balanced budget legislation. He will reform welfare. He will cut bureaucratic red tape and he will cut the size of government. These policies are all supported whole heartedly by Helen Johns, the PC candidate in Huron. She has a firm business background, has a fresh approach to politics, and I am supporting her as best I can in her Common Sense campaign.
