GRADE 3/4 NEWS
Most plant growers have now
taken their garden transplants
home. Our room's tallest plant was
a Russian climbing bean plant
which grew well over one metre
tall!
We are now using the temporary
services of the Blyth Public
Library. Mrs. Brigham has been
very helpful with good displays,
library cards and book exchanges.
This will continue for at least one
week more.
Grade 3/4 class is sending six
athletes to the Seaforth meet.
BRACELET AND DONUT
ENTREPRENEURS BUSY IN
GRADE 5
The Grade 5 class at Blyth Public
School has been very busy raising
funds for their trip to the Medieval
Tournament and Feast in Toronto.
They are selling pop and Culbert's
donuts.
Some students busily made
friendship bracelets for fellow
students to purchase. Prices ranged
from 25 cents to 50 cents. The
colour range and patterns were
beautiful and students created
bracelets with many different knots
and twists.
PET ROCKS
The Grade 5 class at Blyth Public
School has allowed 21 new pets
into the school. These pets are very
harmless, adaptable and quiet.
They're also very beautiful and they
make great companions.
Each student has chosen a pet
rock as the beginning to their rock
unit. They named it, sketched it,
and used all five senses to identify
with it.
Students are going to-report on
Monday why they chose their
particular rock.

Community
Living Assoc.
seeking
positions
The Wingham and District
Community Living Association has
been working diligently in the area
to get developmentally challenged
people integrated into the
community.
Cheryl Meyers said some of the
people associated with the
organization have been active in
the Blyth area, but they are still
looking for other activities or odd
jobs. Since January, some of the
association's members have been
involved with the Coffee Break
Hour at the Blyth Christian
Reformed Church, in addition to
volunteering at the Blyth Festival
and Huronlea.
"It could be a volunteer position
or employment for even just a
couple of hours a day," Myers says,
adding that odd jobs like stocking
shelves, delivering mail or running
other errands of this type would be
perfect opportunities for the
individuals to feel part of the
community. •
Anyone interested in this
program could contact the
Association at 357-3562.
