The third meeting of the
Cranbrook Stagemasters was held
on May 13. With 16 members and
two leaders, the meeting began
with the 4-H pledge.
We then showed title pages that
members had made.
The rest of the meeting was held
outdoors. We played a few games,
then we were put into pairs and
given an idea about writing plays.
Then the pairs acted the idea out.

Blyth councillors were more than
happy to offer their support to the
next phase of the Huron Pioneer
Threshermen's development pro-
ject, though one plan will be get-
ting a little further investigation.
Jeff Thomson, president of the
Thresher Association, attended the
May 15 meeting to discuss the
work to be done. The plan is to
fence across the Mike Siertsema
property to the tractor pull track, up
the new Thresher's Lane across the
campgrounds and at the back of the
property if the money allows.
A loading ramp will be built and
some landscaping done to the

The ad for volunteers to serve as
Blyth representatives on the Com-
munity Centre Board brought the
right result. •
Blyth councillors were told, May
15, that two written offers had
been received to fill the two posi-
tions. The request came about
because of a letter from Hullett
Twp. saying they would withdraw
their support from the community
centre if Blyth didn't fulfill its share
of the agreement, which was that it
have four representatives on the
board, including two from council.
Council had decided earlier that
groups of lour to write a play. Out
of the four groups, one of the plays
will be put on at the "Grande
Finale".
When we reconvened, we did
improv skits. This is when you are
given a first line and you must
come up with a skit to fit it.
After this we went back inside
for snack, and ended the meeting
with the 4-H pledge.
The next meeting will be held on
May 27, at 1 p.m. at the Cranbrook
Hall.
developed area.
Though councillors agreed that
they wholeheartedly support the
work the Threshers have done,
Reeve Mason Bailey did express
some concern over the intention of
putting barbed wire at the top of the
fence to deter vandals. "I just worry
about liability if anyone climbs the
fence," Bailey said.
Thomson said he understood
council's concern and would appre-
ciate if they would investigate fur-
ther to see if there are any bylaws
regarding this. Chief Building Offi-
cial Paul Josling will look into the
matter.

it would save money if they just
had representatives from council.
Reeve Mason Bailey and Council-
lor Gerald Kerr attend the meetings
of the board.
Morris and East Wawanosh, who
also support the Blyth community
centre, voiced their agreement with
Hullett in time for the May 15
meeting.
Al Donaldson and former Blyth
reeve Dave Lee offered their time
to serve on the committee. "That's
good enough for me," said Coun-
cillor Robbie Lawrie. "We asked
for two volunteers and we got
them. That's all we need."
