Students from the public school were busy on Friday travelling around the village and picking up litter. Branch tournament a success Bob Hillis, Sports Officer, announced that Anita Little will represent the Branch at Darts Canada in Calgary. An Apprecia- tion Night will be held for members helping out at the dart tournament. Nominations and elections were held with the present executive to be re-instated for the next year. Guests for the meeting were John MacDonald, Zone Chairman and Gord de Jong, Deputy and Incoming Zone Chairman. Both men commended the Branch on the success of the provincial tournament and the work within the community. During the general business of the meeting it was announced that approximately $4,000 was raised by hosting the provincial dart tournament. The list of donations included $500 to the Children's Hospital Tel- ethon and $200 to Blyth Minor Ball for uniforms. McNichols usher at United The Fourth Sunday of Easter and Mission Sunday was celebrated at Blyth United Church May 7. Wor- shippers were greeted by Shirley and Les Rutledge. Ushers were Colleen, Michelle, Kathy and Sarah McNichol. Junior congregation was under the charge of Joan Clark. Call to Worship was given by Rev. Stephen Huntley. Hymn The Lord's My Shepherd was sung, followed by the Prayer of Approach and Invocation. Words of welcome were followed by Litany of Assurance, read responsively. Rev. Kendra Carter of Blyth, will lead the Law Enforcement Torch Run through Blyth on June 6, at approx- imately 2 p.m., in support of Spe- cial Olympics in Ontario. The Goderich and Clinton Police along with the Goderich and Wing- ham OPP and other forces across the province, focus their charitable efforts in support of mentally chal- lenged individuals through the Torch Run, taking it as an honour to contribute to the well being and joy of this very special group of people. Tremendous growth and achieve- ment over the years has allowed the Torch Run to expand from 1,100 law enforcement personnel in the first year, 1987, to more than 60,000 in 17 countries, last year. Special Olympics received funding of more than $7 million worldwide. Special Olympics gives mentally handicapped athletes the opportuni-
