L. Perrie
trains
in Texas
The track and field season got off
to an early start for one local girl.
Lori Perrie of RR3 Brussels,
travelled to Texas during March
break to participate in a training
camp.
"Even though I was the only
thrower at the camp, I learned a lot
of new skills which I have been
able to bring back and teach other
athletes at school."
Lori specializes in discus at
Seaforth District Secondary School
and competes in shot put and
javelin as well.
Having competed at the national
level for the last two years, Lori has
hopes of returning this year if pre-
vious injuries do not affect her sea-
son and, as with many athletes,
says she has her sights on the
Olympics.
Lori hopes to continue her sport
in the future, but is not sure where
that will be as she is in her final
year of secondary school.
Saturday evening a wind up
dance will be held with Southern
Comfort D.J. Services providing
the music. 420 Blyth Branch
Ladies Auxiliary will be providing
food throughout the weekend,
including breakfast on Saturday
morning.
The branch welcomes all to come
out and enjoy good darts, food and
comradeship.
