36 meet for euchre
Shuffleboard was held at Hullett
Public School on Wednesday
evening, Feb. 1. High lady was Liz
Lawson and high man was Roy
Krauter. There were four present.
The regular WI euchre was held
at the hall on Friday evening, Feb.
3. There were nine tables of euchre.
Winners were: ladies' high, Vi
Hoggart; ladies' lone hands, Betty
Archambault; ladies' low, Margaret
Taylor; men's high, Ted East; men's
lone hands, Eric Anderson; men's
low, Roy Krauter.
Residents extend sympathy
The sympathy of the community
is extended to Donna Flynn and
family on the passing of Hugh
Flynn in London hospital.

Glen's sister, the late Beryl Reid of

Ron Strome and Steve Fritz each
enjoyed a five point game in
leading the Crusaders to a 9-3 win
over Wiarton Sunday afternoon in
Brussels. The win gives the
Crusaders sixth place in the
WOAA Senior Hockey League
standings.
Tied at two after 20 minutes, the
Crusaders scored five in a row for
the win. Crusaders goalscorers
were Strome with three, Fritz and
with two and singles by Tim Fritz,
Brian Campbell, Brent Vandenak-
ker and Brian TenPas. Derek
Cooper stopped 29 shots for the
win.
The Crusaders now meet the
Lakeshore Winterhawks in a best
of seven AA quarter-final series.
Game one is tentatively scheduled
for Southampton Friday night with
game two in Brussels either
Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
Other playoff matchups include
Durham/Wellesley, Tavistock/
Shelburne and Milverton/Elora.
In their only meeting this season
the Crusaders scored six unanswer-
ed third period goals for a 7-7 in
Southampton.

Brussels Crusader Corey McKee gets a bit of interference
from this Wiarton player as he moves the puck down to the
opposition's end in Saturday afternoons game. The
Crusaders romped over the visiting team to move on to the
next round of playoff action.
