They’re the team of Belgian work horses that pull the sleigh at Meeting Place Organic Farm. They are used to the strains of Jingle Bells being sung as they pull the sleigh over the river and through the woods on the McQuail farm near Lucknow, and if last year was any indication they can expect to make a number of trips. Families, friends and staff parlies took the opportunity of an old fashioned Christmas tradition. The woods may ring with the joyous sounds of Christmas carols or be hushed under the gently falling snow. After the sleigh ride visitors can warm up with hot mulled cider and Christmas cookies. A stop at the bam offers an opportunity to sec everything from kittens to cattle, sheep and goals. The McQuails and their horses have been giving sleigh rides for a number of years. They will be taking reservations from now through the Christmas Holidays.
