The Belgrave team bulged the net several times thanks to two very strong players, Kyle Procter and Jeremy Robinson. At the final buzzer the score ended 10 to 3 for Belgrave. Great stick handling and shooting skill gave Kyle Procter five goals for his team. Lots of speed and heads up play allowed Jeremy Robinson to score four goals. Nicky Walker added a nifty wraparound goal to add to her team's cause. Brent Wheeler scored two goals for the Brussels squad. Rookie Andrew McDonald was all smiles after scoring his first ever goal. Newcomer Tyler Jutzi joined the club recently and fit into the team's play as if he'd been here from the start. Four-year-old Cayli Hunt played her first game with plenty of determination, never missing a shift, and proud to sport the famous No. 99. Both teams provided the fans with plenty of entertainment. The L'll Ringers' next game will be Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. in Monkton. Brussels Atoms Reps down Goderich 9-0 Sliding by Friday night the Brussels Atom Reps trounced a visiting Goderich , team 9-0. Brian Oldfield had another big night scoring five goals. Nolan Krotz had two goals and two assists, while Darryl Houston and Chris Coulter rounded out the scoring. Matt McCall recorded his third shutout of the year. Saturday the Atoms travelled to Tara for their first tournament of the year. Brussels played Keady in their first game, with lots of end to end action. Only one goal made it through the markers in the first two periods when Oldfield scored on a pass from Andy VanBeek at the 6:10 mark. Keady tied the score with 3:23 left in the third period, however Brussels boys scored two quick goals with 30 seconds to jump ahead. Oldfield scored both goals with help from Vanbeek. As the buzzer sounded the boys had a 3-1 victory in game one. In game two Brussels forced Tiverton and hammered them 12-2. Brussels scored quick and often in this game. Stephen Todd opened the scoring at the 8:23 mark on a pass from Chris Coulter. Krotz made it 2-0 at the seven minute mark, then with 5:38 remaining in the first Oldfield scored on a nice three way passing play from Krotz and Robert Kerr. Twenty-four seconds into the second Vanbeek scored his first goal of the year. Oldfield scored Blyth Atoms capture 3 straight After much improvement, since the start of season, the Blyth Atoms have won their last three games. On Nov. 16 Goderich II came to town and the home team outscored their opponents 6-0. This gave Ryan Lee his first shutout of the season, and the boys their first win. Game two was played in Goderich on Nov. 20. The score of this game was a little closer, with neither team scoring in the first period. Al the 7:41 mark of the second, Tyler Wilson scored on a nice pass from Derek Cook. There wasn’t another goal scored until 14:03 of the third period. Matt Anderson got this one unassisted, then struck again with help from Continued on page 17 the next three goals in two minutes to make the score 7-0. At the 9:50 mark Krotz scored on a helper from Coulter. Tiverton scored the next two goals, then with three minutes remaining Chris Blake scored on a pass from Coulter. Oldfield scored from Darryl Houston with 2:45 remaining. Houston and Kerr rounded out the scoring. This advanced the Atoms to the A final Sunday against the Shallow Lake team, which is undefeated this year. It was going to be a real challenge for Brussels. Oldfield opened the scoring 15 seconds into the game on a nice pass from Krotz. Unfortunately Shallow Lake tied the score 20 seconds later. With 3:18 left in the first Oldfield scored again from Krotz and Fischer. Brussels got a two goal lead as Oldfield completed the hat-trick from Blake at 6:50 of the second. End-to-end action was the name of this game as Shallow Lake kept coming but Matt McCall closed the door. Shallow Lake's Jeff McDermid scored two quick goals within 30 seconds to tie the score going into the third. The action continued but Shallow Lake scored early in the third to take a 4-3 lead. With time winding down, Shallow Lake sealed off the victory with 52 seconds left to win the A Championship 5-3. Congratulations boys on some exciting hockey and capturing the A Championship Runner Up. A Goderich Tyke sneaks one past the Blyth defenseman while the goalie has his eye on the puck and ready for the save. The two young teams faced off in a Blyth match on Saturday afternoon. Brussels Bulls scratch out tie The Brussels Bulls and the Walkerton Blackhawks don't like each other and that was very apparent Sunday afternoon when the two teams battled to a 6-6 tie. In three meetings this season the Bulls have lost by one goal to the Hawks and tied twice. It was a see-saw battle that saw the Bulls' lack of discipline result in three Walkerton powerplay goals. But the Bulls battled back powerplay goals in an 8-4 loss. Captain Greg McNevan had three for the Bulls while Mike MacKay got his first of the year on a knuckleballer from the point. Coach Scott Pettigrew said it was a frustrating weekend, "We have been trying to play with more emotion but the players have to channel it in the right direction. We are retaliating too much and it is costing us." The Bulls now sport a record of 6-5-4 for 16 points and are tied for fourth with Wingham. Walkerton is a point ahead but has played three more games. Hanover has moved into second with 19 points. The Bulls released Walton native Chris Stevenson back to the Brussels Juveniles. A one minute breakdown in the third, however, saw Walkerton go back up 6 - 4 before Brussels staged a late comeback. The Bulls pulled to within one with just over two minutes to play when Nate Bender slapped home his second goal of the game, but the Bulls took a penalty and looked doomed having to play shorthanded for the rest of the contest. However with the goalie out defenceman Brandon Alviano slipped home the tying goal with only six seconds left on the clock. Josh Alexander played a strong game scoring one and assisting on three others. Ryan Wright scored the other Brussels goal. Friday night the Bulls walked into Hanover looking for their third straight win of the season against the Barons but gave up five BRUSSELS BULLS JR.
