The event raised funds for Third World people through the sale of their products. WI celebrates anniversary The Majestic Women's Institute celebrated its 55th anniversary at their meeting on Oct. 12. Visitors came from the Walton, Gorrie and Molesworth branches, to wish the Majestic branch congratulations. President Ruth Bauer opened the meeting with a poem on "People Who Know How to Break the Day". Convenor for the Environment Fair, Doris McCall asked for volunteers to help in the kitchen and with making food. Roll call was answered by naming an article or remedy for first-aid that you carry in your purse. The card party committee for Nov. 1 is Melody White, Jean Bell, Peggy Cudmore, Jean Oldfield and Ruth Galbraith. Melody White read the motto, "The heart is the garden where the flowers grow, the thoughts we think are the seeds we sow." Edna Pletch introduced the guest speaker, Doug Sholdice. He said the three first aid priorities to check first are breathing, bleeding and unconsciousness. Yes, on Sept. 2, it was off to Grand Bend to the theatre to see Oklahoma. It was well worth while going as the music was great. We were right at the front, therefore we could see the orchestra playing, and the expression on the faces of everyone performing.
