Quartette sings at Missionary service
Helen Baumbach with Pastor and
Mrs. Came sang a very delightful
number Come Follow Me.
Pastor Carnc's message, "Want
ing the Word" was taken with
scripture from Acts 13: 4-12 with
emphasis on verse 7. "Arc we
preaching the Word of God?" he
asked. Christians seem to try to fit
God into their programs, but people
The congregation at Auburn
Missionary Church heard John
Baumbach sing Take ll to the Lord
and Leave It There. A mixed
quartette consisting of John and
want to hear lhe Word of God.
Pastor Carnc asked how we hear
the Word of God. First by
proclamation, he said. Personal
evangelism is proclaiming that God
is in our midst; that He knows our
needs and saves us from sin.
Romans 3:23 states "All have
sinned and come short of the glory
of God".
Then there is transportation,
Pastor said. As the Apostle Paul in
Act 13, if we are going to proclaim
the Word of God we can't sil in
church and do it, Pastor Carnc said.
Lastly there is confrontation. We
must resist untruth and stand up for
Lhe truth.
Pastor and Mrs. Came spent a
few days last week at a pastor's
retreat in Stayner.
Everyone enjoyed the wonderful
men's fellowship at the Goderich
Golf and Country Club .when the
guest speaker was Dr. David Bell
of Owen Sound.
