The Citizen, 1994-09-28, Page 19Brussels Livestock report Fed steers sell $2-$3 lower Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending Sept. 23 were: fed cattle, 884; cows, 198; veal calves, 151; sheep and goats, 210; stockcrs, 1,300; and pigs, light run. The market at Brussels Livestock saw fed steers and heifers trading $2 - $3 lower. Cows sold $ 1 higher. There were 629 steers on offer selling from $83 to $90 to the high of $100. Thirteen steers consigned by Wayne O'Brien, Centralia, averaging 1,340 lbs. sold for an average of $84.79 with sales to $100. Twelve steers consigned by K & A Beef Farms, Wroxeter, averaging 1,188 lbs. sold for an average of $92.71 with sales to‘ $98.50. Twelve steers consigned by G. A. Stewart Farms, Ripley, averaging 1,280 lbs. sold for an average of $88.06 with sales to $95. Thirty-one steers consigned by Don Culbcrt, Dungannon, averaging 1,375 lbs. sold for an average of $86.30 with sales to $94.50. Armstrongs compete in U.S. Three generations of Armstrongs from Auburn, will represent local dairy producers at the 21st Annual North American International Live­ stock Exposition (NAILE) in Louisville, Kentucky on Nov. 5 through 18. The youngest Armstrong, John, has entered six head of Jersey cattle in the junior dairy division. Those six head along with three registered to his father, Fred, and grandfather, Jack, arc entered in the open dairy class, the following day.
