Grade 3s study trees
Good driver
Gary Earl, an employee of Grey Twp. and its Fire Chief took top honours at the first MTO
Safety Truck Rodeo held for municipal employees in Stratford, Sept. 21 and 22. There were
57 participants from Huron, Perth and Wellington. Using a single axle dump truck such as the
one pictured, Mr. Earl finished first of all the Huron drivers then one point ahead of the top
driver from each of the other counties to claim the trophy.

We are trying out tor cross
country. We are studying trees. We
are learning to count with play
money. We get bonus bucks and
cash them in for bigger bills. We
get a paycheque of 850 bucks and
if we tip our chair we get a fine of
10 bucks. We have to pay our bills
after we get our paycheque.

Added to the skyline of Walton is
a beautiful new two-car garage.
Gene and Joyce Marcuccio are the
proud owners of this addition and
we congratulate them on such a
nice looking design.
Congratulations to Clarence
Flood on his 39th birthday! (or was
that 69th?) He has the smile and the
charm of a youngster. We all wish
him health, wealth and happiness.
Congratulations to Jillian
Houston, daughter of Murray and
Maxine Houston, who swam her
way to a position on the Huron
County Hurraines Swim Team.
Jillian competes in the front and
back crawl, breast stroke and
butterfly. She will compete in

Encouraged by his wife some
years ago to become more involved
in the community, Mr. Ritchie has
served as second vice of the local
Lions Club and has contributed his
lime to minor sports in Blylh. The
reason for this latest step, he said,
is because "1 plan on staying here
the rest of my life so 1 have an
interest in the village and in how it
runs."
"1 also think it's lime for new
faces and new ideas," he added.
Councillor Mason Bailey earlier
declared his intent to run for reeve.
