Paul Haslem of Forwich performed some musical numbers on his
hammered dulcimer for visitors to the Thresher Reunion. Here, he gets
some help from a spoonplayer who happened past. Mr. Haslem built the
dulcimer himself.

With another year's Thresher Reunion set
to begin, Gladys Van Egmond and her
committee have been hard at work preparing
the entertainment, she says.
Mrs. Van Egmond is in her ninth year as
co-ordinator of entertainment and she says
could never accomplish the ever growing
amount of work without the help of others.
This year she is assisted by Dave Chittick
of Hanover who organized the events for the
main stage, Bev. Hanson of Pt. Clark took
care of arrangements for Shed 2 and Lois
Hodgins of Crcditon looked after SJacd 1.
Once again there is a wide variety of
features available throughout the three day
event and all ages should find something of
interest.
Though the reunion doesn't officially
begin until Friday, there are jam sessions
scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday
evening. The campers arc invited to meet in
the Auditorium and Shed 2 on Wednesday,
for an informal jam session. Thursday's jam
will be held in Shed 1 and 2.
The Calvin Cloggers of the Blyth-Walton-
Winlhrop area will perform at 8:00 p.m.,
Wednesday in the Auditorium.
A fiddle workshop will be conducted by
Doug McNaughton of Stratford and
participation will be by invitation only. Mrs.
Van Egmond says, " This event has become
very popular in recent years. Last year 40
people were invited to participate in the
workshop and this year the list has grown to
50 plus."
"Mr. McNaughton is a great leader. He is
very good at explaining to each fiddler
where they could improve, in a constructive
manner," says Mrs. Van Egmond.
Spectators are welcome to enjoy the
session.
Friday brings a day filled with enter
tainment, says Mrs. Van Egmond. There will
be two stages near the Auditorium featuring
