The Citizen, 1994-08-31, Page 21MISCHIEF - ATTEMPT THEFT On Aug. 12 at about midnight a vandal broke the side windows of three vehicles parked at Huron Motor Products in Exeter. It appears that the perpetrator inserted a screwdriver between the window and door frame to break the windows. ATTEMPTED BREAK AND ENTER On Aug. 12 a hole about the size of a baseball was discovered in the upper portion of an outside window near the locking mechanism, at the J.D. McCurdy School. ATTEMPT vehicle theft On Aug. 12 a vehicle was left parked at Art's Auto Repair in Exeter and in the morning it was found that someone had broken into it and damaged the steering column in an attempt to steal it. BREAK ENTER AND THEFT A residence at Lot 36, Cone. 10, Hullett Twp. was broken into and the following items stolen: $150 in American money and $70 Cana­ dian, five full bottles of Barcardi rum, one black G.E. Model 11- 2004 cassette player, one Lloyds grey coloured cassette player, one Citizen model JCD4006, black coloured compact disc player. MISCHIEF IN BAYFIELD On Aug. 12 a prankster caused considerable damage when several wooden garbage containers were split apart and park benches were put on top of trees and phone booths. Three outside lights were damaged as well. Thieves break into McGavins BREAK ENTER AND THEFT A thief broke into McGavin Farm Equipment of Walton and stole a Box Jet power washer and a 24 piece set of 3/8" metric sockets along with an assortment of metric wrenches. MISCHIEF A French door and a side door to an old school house at Lot 38, Cone. 1, East Wawanosh, was discovered damaged on Aug. 14. In addition a glass in a counter was damaged. BREAK AND ENTER EXETER On May 28 a small brown four door vehicle stopped in the laneway of a residence at 126 Huron Street West, Exeter and the driver got out and rang the door bell. When there was no answer the passengers got out. Two of them kicked in the door, entered the residence and stole a 28" RCA television. The thieves ripped the trim off the television wall unit to get the television out. THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE A NIK IA portable bag phone was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on King Street in the village of Hensail on May 28 at about 2:14 in the afternoon. SWIMMING POOL DAMAGED A swimming pool at 199 William Street in Exeter was damaged when someone threw bricks into it and ripped the liner beyond repair, causing damage in the amount of $2,500. MISCHIEF IN DASHWOOD • A sharp object was used to scrape the paint off the passenger's door and also the right rear quarter panel of a vehicle parked at Hoffman Ambulance in the village of Dashwood on May 29 sometime between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 noon.
