Health Council offers grants The Huron Perth District Health Council will be offering a "Healthy Communities Grants Program" Workshop on Thursday, Sept. 22 (10 - 3 p.m.) at the Mitchell Town Hall, 169 St. David Street, Mitchell. Individuals, groups and organizations interested in applying for funding to support a Healthy Communities project should plan to attend the workshop. Useful tips and pointers will be provided on the Healthy Communities Grants Program, how to develop project ideas, how to form a group, preparing a proposal, strategies to affect change and evaluation. Past projects have been funded up to a maximum of $10,000. Application forms will be available at the workshop on Sept. 22 or afterwards by calling 482-3416. Museum celebrates harvest Ontario's bountiful harvest is the theme of this year's Harvest Home event scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Ontario Agricultural Museum. Visitors can sample harvest treats as costumed interpreters bring to life preserving practices of the past at the various farmsteads. In the Museum's Gambrel Barn a mini farmer's market and craft display provides visitors with the opportunity to take home some of Ontario's harvest products includ­ ing fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs, honey, fall crafts and more. Live entertainment abounds with the sounds of noted musician Ian Bell and Professor Chalaupka's Celebrated Singing School. Members of the Mil ton Choristers will also add to the festivities with a presentation of sacred music in the Museum's historic church. Children's crafts and games along with wagon rides, farm animals and more make a day at the Ontario Agricultural Museum an enjoyable one. Free parking, a country style restaurant and gift shop are also featured. to reach the Ontario Agricultural Museum take Highway 401, exit Guelph Line or Highway 25 north and follow the signs. The Museum is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Sept. 25.
