Helping out
Michelle and Darcey Cook spent some time with dad, Steve, helping hime sell draw tickets at
the Huronlea Bake Sale and Tea on Thursday afternoon. There was a good turnout with
many of the yummies disappearing early. Steve is an employee at the home. The proceeds
from the day are going to offset costs for a residents trip to Parry Sound on Aug. 9 and 10.
The residents will be staying at the Jolly Roger Inn then will be taking a cruise on the Island
Queen before returning home.
Residents enjoy busy June
Herman and Georgina Garland of Brussels celebrated their
50th anniversary on July 17 with an open house. The
couple was married during a 48 hour leave from the air
force for Mr. Garland so the family felt a two day
celebration to mark the 50th was in order. A barbecue was
held on Saturday.
Guests come from far and wide
to honour local golden couple

salads, beverage and dessert was
served after which there was
entertainment in the front lobby.
We were pleased to have about
150 seniors visit Huronlea for these
special days. Thanks to the enter
tainers, who helped out and
volunteer Dave Goodland, who did
the barbecuing.
It was also our pleasure to have
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fisher from
Bluevale celebrating their 61st

Year Award in Toronto on June 7.

are in the hospital a very speedy
recovery. To the families who have
lost a loved one our sympathy goes
to each of you.
We would like to welcome Olive
