Sponsored by The Citizen the youngsters race in age divisions. A prize is also awarded for the best decorated car. There is something for everyone at the 5th Annual Blyth Rutabaga Festival including face painting and games for the young or young at heart. Rutabuggies race at Festival The race is on and kids should plan to be part of The Citizen's Rutabuggy soap box derby on Sat­ urday, June 25. The games begin at 2 p.m. on Gypsy Lane near the Lions Park. Prizes will be awarded to the fast racer in each category: boy and girl nine and under, boy and girl 10-1 2, boy and girl 12-15 and the best decorated for the Rutabaga Festival theme. All vehicles must have an effec­ tive steering and braking mecha­ nism. Registration will be held no less than 15 minutes before starting time. Legion sells for pennies The Legion Ladies Auxiliary will be holding a penny sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on June 23 and 24 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 25 at the Legion Hall. Shriners fry fish The Bluewater Shriner's Club will return to the festival again this year. The meal will include white perch, choice of salad, roll, dessert and tea or coffee. The Shriner's will be serving at the arena from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday June 26. The price is $8.50 per adult or $4.50 for children. Tickets can be purchased at the arena that night. Mrs. Ament says there is a wide . selection of goodies with some- \ thing for everyone. Well over 125 S items have been gathered. There will be draws held for two or three grocery baskets as well as for a quilt. The event was a great success in 1993 and the Legion Ladies Auxil­ iary expect a good turnout.
