A Clinton man was the winner
Feb. 5 of the Lotto 649 jackpot.
Don Bartliff an employee of
Clinton PUC says he and his wfie
plan to invest the $497,239.70 win
nings. The father of two has been
using the same numbers, which he
had picked out of a hat for the past
seven years.
Mr. Bartliff previously won $80
when he had four numbers correct.

$1,500
An Ethel man who acted as a go-
between for the sale of stolen prop
erty was fined $1,500 by Judge
R.G.E. Hunter in Wingham's
provincial court Feb. 16.
Kevin Wernham pled guilty on
Oct. 15 of possession of stolen
goods. His involvement began, the
court had been told then, when he
was approached by two men to see
if he knew anyone who would be
interested in purchasing lumber.
Mr. Wemham assisted with the sale
and the truck and trailer transport
ing the wood had been left on his
property, where it was later recov
ered by police.
The truck, trailer and lumber had
been taken from Mississauga,
Judge Hunter was told.
In addition to the fine, Mr. Wem
ham was placed on 12 months pro
bation.
