The Rural Voice, 2019-01, Page 1163465-11/18OFA has identified several key areas to focus our advocacy work in 2019. These
priority areas all impact the ability of our 38,000 members to operate productive
and sustainable farm businesses.
Through our Producing Prosperity in Ontario campaign, we’ll continue to advocate
for investments in rural Ontario and the agri -food sector to build capacity and create
greater economic development. Our key areas of interest include:
• Access to affordable natural gas
• High speed internet in rural and northern communities
• Stable rural school network
• Improvements in rural infrastructure for roads and bridges
As part of the Thames River Phosphorus Reduction Collaborative, OFA will continue
working together on ways to effectively reduce the phosphorus lost to Lake Erie.
OFA thanks all its members for their suppor t in 2018. We look forward to working
