Christmas Bureau sends plea for donations
With Christmas only a week and
a half away, there are many chil-
dren in Huron County who may not
be able to enjoy the spirit of the
season.
The Huron County Christmas
Bureau, sponsored by the Chil-
dren's Aid Society, has released a
plea for help. They are in need of
clothing, toys and warm mittens for
children of all ages.
The release states that there are

Belgrave Community Club had a
catered Christmas dinner in the
new complex Dec. 7 at 12:30 noon.
Rev. Paul Boughton led in grace
and approximately 60 seniors,
along with takeout orders, enjoyed
the meal prepared by Joanne
Robinson and Marilyn Freiburger.
A sing-song, led by Barbara
Anderson, accompanied by Fred
Johnston, followed the dinner.
Lucky winners of poinsettias
were Freda Johnston, Jack Van
Camp, Alice Nicholson and Jean
Pattison. Other prizes of lucky
marked plates were: Rev, Paul
Boughton and Lloyd Appleby.
During the afternoon euchre, lost
heir, shoot and shuffleboard were
all enjoyed.

Aid Society has planned free skates
throughout the county to provide an
opportunity for families to share an
experience during the holidays.
The free skates will be held in:
Covenanting service
A covenanting service between
Rev. Paul Boughton, the Belgrave
Pastoral charge and Huron-Perth
Presbytery was held Sunday
evening in Knox United Church,
Belgrave.
Rev. Rick Magie, Goderich
presided. Rev. John Roberts,
Belgrave read the scripture and
Rev. Ed Laksmanus of Crediton
gave the Homily.
Mrs. Betty Graber, Brussels,
introduced Rev. Boughton to the
congregation and John Campbell,
chair of Huron Perth Presbytery of
Bayfield conducted the
convenanting ceremony.
Members of Belgrave ancl
are down 20 percent from 1992.
The five local bureaux will be
open until Dec. 17 to receive dona-
tions. The hours are from 10 a.m. to
4 p.m.
The locations are: Wingham,
Sacred Heart Catholic Church;
Goderich, Knox Presbyterian
Church; Clinton, Wesley-Willis
United Church; Seaforth, Bethe,
Bible Church and Exeter, Christian
Reform Church.

Rev. Boughton expressed thanks
to everyone and a social time
