Lois read, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Hullett PS news Grade 7s CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES By Amy Wilts, Shannon Scott and Angie Konarski In the next two weeks the Grade 7 class is going to be working on several Christmas activities such as stories, poems and Christmas crafts. They have already written stories about Santa, Rudolph, and an elf out for a jog. CHRISTMAS TREAT On Friday, Dec. 3, the grade 7 class watched a movie called 'The Muppets Christmas Carol". It was about Scrooge and how he hated Christmas. At the end of the movie, Scrooge turned into a nice man instead of a mean man. He gave presents to everyone. Before he wouldn't give any presents away. Next week the Grade 7's are looking forward to seeing "Free Willie". SPENDING $20,000 In math the Grade 7's paired up into partners and their teacher Mr. Medd gave them an imaginary $20,000 to spend and a flyer to buy from. They had half an hour to buy anything they needed for their new home. HONEST, IT'S THE TRUTH By Andrea Vandendool Recently the Grade 7 class has written tall tales to their parents or teachers. Some were about why they never had their homework done and others were about how the window got broke. Some were very funny. PINATAS By Maegan Rinehart Everyone in Mrs. Radford's Grade 2/3 class made pinatas for Christmas. They represent reindeer, ornaments and numerous other items. In Mexico the children enjoy taking turns breaking the pinatas. They are blindfolded when trying to break them. After the pinatas have been broken, the children scramble to pick up the gifts that were hidden inside. 24 play euchre in Auburn On Tuesday evening, Dec. 7 euchre was played at the Auburn Community Hall with six tables in play. Winners were: high lady, Lois Haggitt; low lady, Ferne Howatt; high man, Raymond Haggitt; low man, Harold McClinchcy; lucky chair, Marjorie East. Next week Tuesday, Dec. 14 will be the last card game until after the new %ear. People Christmas". Members sang some Christmas carols. The 4-H leaders and their group put on their achievement night for the programme. There were carols and a Christmas quiz. They served punch and homemade cookies and gave each member a box of cookies to take home. High lady was Helen Lee and high man was Roy Krauter. There were eight people present. The WI euchre was held at the hall on Friday evening, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. There were four tables of euchre. Winners were: ladies' high, Estella Adams; ladies' lone hands, Marie Krauter; ladies' low, Laura Lyon; men's high, George Hoggart; men's lone hands, Roy Krauter and men's low, Lloyd Appleby. Musical numbers were done by Gail and Barb. Guest speaker was Alma Langford of Exeter who gave a Christmas address. Margaret Anderson thanked her and presented her with a gift. A musical number was presented by Lisa Elliott, Kelly and Barb Bosman. A Christmas reading, "The Gift of the Magi" by Edythe Beacom. Announcements were given. A musical number, "Star of the East" was done by Ruth Vincent. Brenda Radford led the worship service. They closed with the Mizpah Benediction. The next meeting is Monday, Jan. 17 at 1:30 p.m. There will be a, guest speaker. Choir practice set Sunday, Dec. 12 was White Gift Service at Londesboro United Church. It was presented by the Sunday School and Junior Choir. The family pot luck dinner was held after the service at the school. Choir members are reminded of their Christmas practices at 10 a.m. both Saturday, Dec. 18 and Sunday, Dec. 19. Sheila Belli of Toronto, Joan Ives and Loise Doerr of Niagara Falls visited with Bud and Laura May Chamney last week.
