Magician Marg Dean seems a little puzzled at the end result of this sleight of hand trick when
the bottles she and Brittany Holmes of Walton Public School were holding ended up in a
different position even though they both did the trick the same way. The London resident with
her husband noted magician Dicky Dean visit many schools to entertain.
Smiths greet
Tama, Tad and Tina Smith were
greeters at Duffs United Church on
Nov. 28, the first Sunday at
Advent.
Rev. Banks announced that Dec.
5 after church the Sunday School
will be serving lasagna. There will
also be a play practise too.
Dec. 20 will be a night for
carolling and sleigh riding for kids
and adults alike.
The children then joined in a
circle to make an Advent wreath
while Andrew McDonald stood in
the middle to be a candle of hope as
everyone sang "Light one Candle".
Rev. Banks, Patty and Geoffrey
read the Advent liturgy with
Geoffrey lighting the first Advent
candle. The choir sang, "The Bread
We Eat".
The children gathered at the front
of the church while Rev. Banks
showed them how to make an
Advent chain from a booklet each
child would receive once they were
in class. He also showed them the
Jesse Tree that a few Walton
people made at the Bluevale family
Advent night.
Communion was served by Viola
Kirkby, Margaret Craig and Phyllis
and Emmerson Mitchell.
Rev. Banks's sermon was called
'Come Down, God".
The two older Sunday School
classes went bowling at
Molesworth after church. It was a
lot of fun and they topped the event
off with ice cream and treats at the
Dairy Queen.
