Kevin Campschroer, RR1, Blyth receives the Doug
Kennedy Award from Florence Pullen, leader of the Huron
Sheep Club at the Huron 4-H Awards Night in Clinton, Nov.
26. The award goes to the reserve champion sheep
showman.
Plowing ahead
John Beyens (right), RR3, Walton, accepts the Ross
Gordon Award from Mr. Gordon at the Huron County 4-H
Awards Night at Clinton Nov. 26. The award goes to the 4-
H member plowing the best crown at the Huron County
Plowing Match. John also won the Royal Bank Award as
top first-year member in the 4-H Sodbusters Club and the
Sodbuster Leaders Award for the top land plowed at the
Plowing Match.

Area 4-H'ers get awards at Achievement Night
Miranda MacDonald of RR3,
Auburn and John Beyens, RR3,
Walton where among those from
north Huron who carried home a lot
of hardware at the annual Huron
County 4-H Awards night in Clin-
ton Friday.
Ms Macdonald took the High
Point Junior Horse Exhibitor
Award, the Auburn Co-op Trophy
for highest points in the Dungan-
non Horses R Us Club, and the
Milton Dietz Limited Award as the
Champion Horse Showman at the
Seaforth Fair.
John Beyens took home the
Royal Bank Award as the first year
member in the 4-H Sodbusters
Club with the highest score, the
Ross Gordon Award for the 4-H
member with the best crown at the
4-H Junior Day at the Huron Coun-
ty Plowing Match and the Sod-
buster Leader Award for the top
land plowed with a competitive
plow.
Local members dominated the
awards for showing pigs. Jamie
Thomas, RR1, Ethel, won the Ed
Watson Award for the champion 4-
H market pig at the Seaforth Fall
Fair and the Huron County Pork
Producers' Award as the member
with the highest score in the 4-H
Swine Club.
Brian Sinclair, RR1, Belgrave,
took the National Trust Award as
champion 4-H swine showman at
the Seaforth Fair and the Bill Turn-
bull Award for the 4-H member
with the highest score showing a
Yorkshire pig.
Darrell Bergsma, RR1, Londes-
boro won the Bergsma Award
donated by Bruce and Marie Bergs-
ma for the 4-H Swine Club member
with the champion 4-H gilt at the
Seaforth Fair.
Jamie Hallahan, RR3, Blyth, won
the Cargill Limited Award for the
high intermediate judge at the
county judging competition.
Conrad Bos, RR3, Blyth, won the
Huron Holstein Club Award for the
second highest score for 4-H dairy
club members showing Holstein
calves.
Patrick Hallahan, RR3, Blyth,
won the Heather Holme Farms
Award as leading judging club
member in the dairy judging club.
Debbie Smuck, RR4, Wingham,
won the Brussels Agromart Award
as the high senior judge at the
Huron County judging competition.
Kevin Camschroer, RR1, Blyth,
won the Doug Kennedy Award as
Reserve Sheep Showman. He was
also one of the winners of silver
trays from the Hallrice Dairy Club
as members of the winning team in
the county judging competition.
