PAGE 15. Couple honeymoons in Mexico Greeters at Blyth United Church Sunday were Les and Shirley Rutledge. Ushers were Jack and Agnes Wharton, Graham Jackson, Marlene Toll, who also assisted with the offering. Rev. Ramirez opened the service with call to worship, prayer of approach, prayer of confession, silent confession and assurance of pardon. The congregation sang "When Morning Gilds the Skies". Responsive reading was Psalm 143 1-11, "Lord, Listen to My Prayer." Scripture reading was taken from John 6: 1-13. This was followed by the singing of "Break Thou the Bread of Life." Rev. Ramirez welcomed all the children, then explained the scripture story. Who brought the five loaves and the fish? he asked. He read the verse again. There were five thousand people and one small boy brought lunch. Jesus took the bread and fish and fed the multitude. There were leftovers enough to fill 12 baskets. This being the last story for Rev. Ramirez, he asked that all give what little talent they have to the Lord Jesus. Floral arrangements were placed . in memory of Mary Young, sister of Gladys Caldwell and mother of Evelyn Popp. Sympathy is expressed to the families. Also deepest sympathy to Mary Walden and family in the passing away of husband, father and grandfather, Lloyd. The choral hymn was "In Sunshine, In Shadow." Rev. Ramirez' sermon theme was "The Miraculous Power of Love". He expanded on the children's story. When we give to an appeal we sometimes feel this may not be very much, he said. But the Lord sees the little amount as plenty in some circumstances. A little is a big help. Sharing is important Rev. Ramirez said. Trust the Lord and give what you have physically and spiritually and there will be a great return. We all have a little bag of lunch God has packed for us to share, he said. Rev. Ramirez mentioned some who have passed on and shared a piece of bread with us but are now sharing with God. He offered a challenge to all to SCOTT-DUSKOCY The marriage of Kimberly Duskocy and James Scott was sol- emnized at Brussels United Church, by Rev. Cam McMillan, on Saturday, July 24, 1993.
