This has become the motto of the Lucknow Band this fall. Marching in the rain in the Fall Fair parade was a new experience for the majority of the members in September. We didn't need a tractor and wagon to be classified as a float! In October, the `band' became the • official band of the F. E. Madill Junior FoOtball Team (Harold Ballard eat your heart out!) And once again experienced the joy of playing in the rain. The band "tackled" this weather twice to help bdost team spirit. It was snow the band encountered on a chilly November 11, however, the mem- hers donned hats, mitts and long -johns to play for the good 'turnout at the cenotaph for the Remembi ance Day service. The week bet ve, Lynn Murray and David Cayley pia "ed at F. E. Madill for a Remembrance Service. That same week a Lucknow Public School group played their truthpetS and drums at the St Helens Remembrance Day Service and also at the Lucknow Public School Service. , These days, the band is staying indoors, not only for warmth but also to practice for upcoming events. The first one will be the Carolfest, which be held December 12 at the Lucknow United Church, A mixture of Christmas music will be performed by the band as well as music by area church choirs. The annual May concert will be the next performance the band will be preparing for.. The,139 members have been practising a Variety of tunes, ranging from the toe -tapping 'Tijuana Taxi" to the majestic "Glory of the Empire". After the conceit in May, the band will be on atrip going to Elmira, St.. Jacobs, Waterloo, Brantford, Simcoe, Woodstock, and Delhi for their four day band tour. In the meantime, the band is looking forward to seeing everyone at the Carol - fest, so they can put you in the Christmas Spirit! IlliTf()P1 WELL. MAINTAINED Wingham home close to downtown.
