The ninth annual banquet of the Dun
pivot' 4-H calf club was held on Sunday,
December 9 at 7 o'clock.
Grace was said byGlen McNeil with the
Toast to, the Queen by Ross Eedy. Head
table guests were introduced by Craig
McNeil.
Top Junior Dairy Showman was Craig
McNeil, who won the Hurcin Dairy Equip-
ment Trophy, presented by Karen Rod-
man, Huron 4-H co-ordinator.
The Bob McCallum Trophy to top Dairy
Showman, was presented by. Lee McCal-
lum to Andrea Stall. Murray Gaunt
resented his .trophy to top Beef Showman,
Barr Y Nivins,
The George ' Smyth Trophy ,to top Beef
and Dairy members achieving the highest
number of - points during the entire club
year (previous winners ineligible) was
'presented to Beef, Judy Walter, and Dairy,
Craig McNeil..
The .Sandy Kolkman Citizenship trophy,
10 silver dollars and a silver tray was
presented by Joanne (Kolkman) Chambers
on behalf of the Kolkman family to Andrea
Smith. The John Clark Memorial Scholar-
ship was presented by Russell Kernighan,
reeve of Colborne, to Craig McNeil.
Bob McNeil introduced the reeves or
deputy reeves and their -wives. Colborne,

The draw for a Coleman Cooler was won
by Lavonne Curran.
A thank you to parents, leaders and
donors was expressed by Andrea Smith,
president..
Twelve tables of cards were in play at tile
weekly seniors euchre, Wednesday even-
ing. High man was Cecil Pollock; low man
Don Shetler. High lady was Belle Mole.
Low lady's score was a tie between Evelyn
Philips and Roberta Linskill with Roberta
winning the draw. There will be no more
weekly euchres, until January 2, 1985.
Club leaders are Bob McNeil, Glen
McNeil and ,Ross Fedy.
Club members are Andrea Smith,
president; Craig McNeil; vice president;
Judy Walter, sec/ eta Darren Connelly
and Barry Nivins,news reporters and Lisa
. Feagan.
Over 60 children took part in the
program .at the Dungannon United Church
on. Sunday for' White Gift Sunday.
• These gifts are to go to the Family and
Children's Services. The Sunday School
teachers are to be commended on their fine
efforts.

Students enjoy drama session

Mrs. Ottewell's graae 2 - ,3 class had
some visitors this week, Mrs. Carol Simon .
and Mr. Warren Robinson froth Huron
County Board office. They did, a drama
session which concentrated on action and
voice. The kids loved it!
Mr. Sygrove'a clait have been decorat-
ing the classroom and have been watching
video tapes abotirthrittnnas: • •
Miss Jewitt's grade 2 have been making
decorations for their room, mitts, snowmen
and trees to put on'the wall. They are also
enjoying a wide variety of Christmas
activities at the centres in 'the afternoons.
At noon hour and recesses the juniors
and seniors play volleyball in the house
league and have a lot of fun.
Mrs. Worsell's grade 3 made large
Santas and Santa mobiles in art this week.
Some were put on the bulletin board 'in the
hall.
Mrs. Allen's grade 5 class is busy
practising for their Christmas play, What

Mrs. Graham's grade . 4 is making
decorations for the concert and helping to
decorate the Christmas tree.
Mrs. Tebbutt'sgrade4 ciass iileifiting a
donation of $11.00 for the starving
Ethiopian people. It was Jesse Foster's
idea. ,
Mrs.'Blanchette's grade 1 is involved in
Christmas activities including pattern book
writing, cut paper picture's and splatter
painting.
In Mrs. Worsell's grade 3 Rev. Scott
was guest story reader on Wednesday. He,
read poetry and the story of Baby Jesus in
braille and also showed samples of braille
books and his braille typewriter.
Mrs. Cameron it, making decorations for
the kindergarten classroom and the pupils
are making coloured' paper chains.
