Mervyn was in his 413rd year,: born in Huron Township on Tnesday, March 11; 1902. His parents were William Hooey and Susan Rutherford. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 29 in the MacKenzie McCreath Funeral Home in Mervyn will be remembered as an industrious and intelligent farmer on the 4th •Concession of Huron Township. Back in the •years when muscle power (men and horses) were used, he foresaw the day of mechanized farming with tractors,common and no horse teams used. Several years ago he and Lenore retired to live inRipley in the Johnston house on Huron' or Main Street south. A year age they moved to Kincardnie.
