Sympathy is extended to these at this time of . bereave- ment. . . , Sophia [Kilmhdk].Foran Sophia Mary Foran passed away at University Hospital in London on Sunday, October- „7, ..1984 after a struggle with leukemia. Sophie was born in Coniston, Ontario as the youngest child d. Frank and Mary Kilminikon January 27, 1923. She attend- ed Nuring .College in Toronto . and later held nursing positions, at Toronto • Psych- iatric Hospital and at Coniston, Ontario for a family doctor. While in, Coniston, a country, boy from West Wawanosh entered Sophie's, life and this led to her marriage to. J.ohti Foran on her , twenty third birthday, January 27, 1946. She moved to the greener pastures of West Wawanosh to begin her new vocation as a wife and mother. This . new career involved working .on the farm and raising and educating fourteen children. Her career in nursing was resumed in 1963 at the Wingham and District Hospital, initially in a part time position and later in a full time position. She . is fondly. remembered by her.patients, friends and associates during her time working at: the hospital." In January of 19$2 Sophie retired from her station• as evening supervisor. Sophie was perhaps best known for her practicality, hardwork and ability to keep her head when those around her were losing theirs. Her motto in life was, no frills, no fuss. She had a great deal of love and understanding for her children, grand- children, husband, and the'many visitors to her home. In later, when illness struck her down, she bore her cross with patience and fortitude. Foran, Eileen George and Kathy Leddy. Pallbearers included her four sons, Con, Frank, Terry and Tom, ,a'' wells as two nephews, John Kilminik and Dofiald Kilminik. , . . Flower bearers were Bert Moss, Robert Kilmisiik, Mary Catherine Kilminik, Mich- ael ichael Foran, Janice Bowland and Mary Ellen Foran. • • • Special recognition was given by a Guard of Honour from the • nursing staff of Wngham ,and District Hospital.
