Dawson, second concession, . Kinloss were
in London to assist his brother, Alex and
wife celebrate their 60th wedding anniver-
sary. All the family and grandchildren
were present to celebrate the occasion.
This. community extends their congratula-
tions as Alex grew up on the home farm
and was.well known in the home commun-
ity.
We are sorry to report that little Dennis
Lubbers had the misfortune on Friday to
have an accident while playing with a sharp
rod. )lt entered his mouth and cut his
throat, which is healing. He expects to. be
home by Tuesday. The community sends
their wishes, Dennis, for a speedy recov-
ery, so you can be back playing.

Donna of Ashfield, Shirley Scott of St.
Catharines and Bill and Bonnie Scott of
Kitchener attended the Winkel Christmas
at Fordwich Hall on Sunday 'with Hannie's
family.
Hary and: Pat. Livingston 'and Doug and
Marlene MacDonald spent the weekend in
Utica, Michigan. The Goderich Oldtimers
Hockey team, of which Hary is a member,
played in. the .Second . Annual Utica
tournament, winning 3 games out of four to
place first, in their division.

Meeting #4 was opened with Susan
Curran reading the minutes of the last
meeting. The leaders then informed mem-
bers. of ` the achievement '"""night date,
November 28. Roll call was then answered
by the attending members. Shaping . up,
handling the snack attack, eating at fast
food places and getting fit were the topics
discussed. The girls decided to look into
asking another club to participate, with,
them in 'a "fun night".
Meeting #5 began with everyone an-
,. the roll call. The discussion then
consisted of women in sports, suppleness,
food as a fuel for sports and fitness, . calorie
makers, and nutrition needs. Bran muffins,
apple jog nog, macaroni, cheese and tom-
ato, ?Wade by Mrs. Curran and Susan
Curran, and apple crunch sundae made by
Elaine O'Donnell and Lila Proctor were
nexton the eating agenda to enjoy.
Fall rummage sale
A rainy day last Friday brought the
• crowds out to the Hospital Auxiliary's fall
rummage sale. Donors, buyers, Auxiliary
workers and other community helpers
,jointly made it the most successful sale yet
in terms of total receipts. Almost $2,500
came in, and this will provide for a
considerable amount of Auxiliary help
towards the care and comfort of patients at
the ' Hospital.
People from all sections serviced by the
Hospital contributed in various, ways to this
success, and patients from the whole area
will benefit. The Auxiliary is very happy to
report the _ following receipts: ladies'
clothing, $474.86; ladies' miscellaneous,
$198.24; men's clothing, $385.41; shoes,
$338.97; hats and purses, $111,16; child-
ren's clothing, $285.51; books and toys,
$85.33; china, $366.95; furniture, $107.00
draperies, $134.11; total, $2,487.4$.
The. next Hospital Auxiliary rummage
sale is planned for April.
The Monday after 4 class was held on
Monday, October 15 with leaders, Mrs.
Moore and Mrs. Lamb serving refresh-
ments. The story told by Mrs, 'Moore was
Service With A Smile, based on Psalm 100.
Mrs. Lamb taught the new song, I Will\
Sing. There were seven attenders who
made Beads, out of paper. Next week the
meeting will be Tuesday, October 23
instead of Monday . and the ,next week
October 29 there will be . no meeting as
Mrs. Lamb will be away.
Cindy Moore RNA began nursing
on Monday at the Nursing Home, Wing-
ham. •
Monday evening callers on Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Emerson- were Mr. and Mrs.
Uuldriks and Mr.li and Mrs. Russel
McGuire, Wingham,
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Uuldriks visited on
Tuesday with friends. in Kitchener.
On Friday the public schoolers in our
area had a holiday as the teachers were on
education.
The crochet club met last Tuesday
evening at the home of Mrs, Belmore.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson, Darlene,
Sharon and Brenda of St.Catharines spent
the weekend with Mt. and
Mrs. Victor
Emerson. Darlene of St. Thomas was along
becausethe teachers were on strike for the
RNA course.

The W.M;.S. held their Thankoffering
meeting in the Sunday School room on
October 17. Leaders were Mrs. Rod Lamb

reading the responsive Psalm 103. Mrs.
Lamb gave the meditation.
Mrs. Alan. Falconer introduced the guest
speaker? Mrs. Rev. Ramsay, whose topic
was Thanksgiving. Mrs. Rod Lamb thank-
ed her and presented her with a gift.
