o the Editor:
An open letter to Mr. David Thomson,
airman of the Board of Health; Bruce
ounty.
' October 15, 1984.
ear Mr. Thomson,
1 wish to express_ my, dismay that
egotiations have broken down between
e Board. of Health and the nurses of the
nice. County Health Unit. •
Asia health care consumer I want you to
now I appreciate both the nurses' work
nd the dedication they show as they serve
s.
In plain English, I missed their services
ice this week: once I needed a tuberculin
I. Secondly I desired to confer with the
ublic healthaurse-regarding a vision test
a school age child.
• Sir, these services are available else-
where, but at a higher cost to us the
taxpayers. •
My family doctor will give me a tuber-
culin—test, and read it 24 'hours later:
However, OHIP will be billed at a higher
cost for two medical visits.
• My optometrist will check my child's.
vision, but again at a decidedly higher cost,
under ()HIP.
As a taxpayer, I resnt your part in
driving up my takes.
• Please return to the bargaining table
with the nurses of the Bruce County Health
• Unit.
