ktn bu.s trip to Owen Sound
• The Purple Grove Women's Institute is
planning its annual bus trip on Mon. Oct. 15
to the Durham and Owen Sound area.
Members attending the Reid's Corners
W.I. last Wectnesday evening were
Katherine Collins, Gladys Arnold, Janet
Nixon and Janet Farrell. Also Janet Farrell
represented •the W.I. at a seminar in
Lucknow last Friday sponsored by the
Lucknow Sentinel for their correspondents.
The editor presented video and discussed re-
cent changes in declines and explained the
details of how a newspaper gets published.
Visiting on Saturday with Mrs. Catherine
Scott were Margaret Bannerman, Marian
and. Miller .Hartwick of Kincardine, and on
Sunday were Frances and Angela Watke of
Carlsruhe.
Jim and'Fran Farrell and girls called on
Ken and Nancy Craig of Kincardine Twp. on
Sunday evening.
Fran Farrell, Christina and Carmen
visited during the week with Fran's grand-
mother Mrs. Simon DeBoer of Lucknow,
Marion Emerson is visiting her sister
Mrs.. Katherine Jamieson in Woodstock.

reception Saturday evening in Formosa for
recent newlyweds Ben and Jo Anne Hedley.

Attending a barbecue in St. Agatha with
Dorothy and Darryl Grogan were Doug and
Shirley MacDonald. On Wednesday Ralph
Gardave of Guelph visited with Shirley and
family and callers during the week at the.

ray who were Married on Saturday. Folks
from here attended • their reception in
Lucknow Saturday evening.
On Saturday Don and Marilyn Reid at-
• tended the wedding of her cousin. Brian
McTavish and. Karen Hyman of Howick.
The Reids visited on Sunday in Dorchester
with Don's sister Wilda Parker and her hus-
band, Bob. They also spent Sunday evening
with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reid of Lucknow .
and their guests Don and Win Kingsbury of
Brantford.
Hear kindergarten teacher speak
Kinloss Kairshea Women's Institute held
their: resolutions meeting on September 20
at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Donald
• MacKinnon.' A delicious choice of desserts
-and coffee were served prior to the meeting.
Mrs. Leonard Clarke, president welcomed
members and guests with a reading,
Minutes of Gold. Mrs. Hank Hartemink read ,
• the 23rd Psalm for the scripture reading.
A resolution submitted by Dryden
Women's Institute concerning the eventual
• elimination of all pornographic materials
from our society was read to the members
and discussed. Members were asked to
write to Dr. Gus Mitges M.P. 722, 9th St. E.
Owen Sound in support of this resolution.
• Mrs. Donald Matthews and Mrs. Jack.
Forster were chosen as delegates to the
county rally in Tara next month.
Mrs. Farrish Moffat introduced the guest
speaker, Mrs. Allan MacIntyre who is best
known as Lucknow Central Public School's
favorite kindergarten teacher and good
friend to all. Nancy gave a thought provok-
ing speech on the topic, Resolve to study
• before we criticize, understand before we
recommend and become aware before we
judge. Nancy closed her speech with the
• following saying of the black people which
• has a lesson in it for everyone, It ain't the
things you don't know what gets you into•
. trouble; it's the things you know for sure
ain't so. VeraSchmidt thanked the
speaker..
A special thank you was given to Mrs.
Frank MacKenzie, Mrs. Donald Matthews
and Mrs. Jack Forster for their tastefully
decorated display in the Women's Institute
• section at the Lucknow Fair.
Mrs. Donald Matthews reported that the
•Kinloss township Bicentennial committee
has decided to have a cairn with a suitably
• inscribed plaque and a flagpole erected at
the township offices. •
• Margaret Collyer had the most in-
teresting roll call story, what else, of course
it was about potties.
Mrs. Harry Lavis gave the courtesy
remarks.
njoy Agctwa Canyon tour
Graham and Bessie McNee have returned
• from a four-day Agawa Canyon trip with
Robin Hood tours. Bessie said the trees were
just a beautiful sea of color. There were
1,243 people on the train trip itself which
made use of four engines, 23 coaches and
two dining cars. The bus driven by Robert
Sherwood travelled home through the.
United States stopping at Mackinac Island
and Frankenmuth.
Congratulations to Eric and Kathy McNee
on the birth of their 8 lb. 10 oz. son, Jeffrey
Duncan McNee, born at St. Joseph's
Hospital, London on Saturday, September

Bessie McNee. •
Visitors recently with Mel Jones have
• been Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Massey (Pauline
Jones) of Cleveland, Ohio, on Wednesday
and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Boyle of Clinton on
Friday.
On Sunday company with Jack and
Marion Smith were Fred and Ellen Carlson
of Golden, B.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Deeves
of Clinton. On Saturday members of their
family were -home to help Marion celebrate
her birthday.
- Congratulations to Lloyd and Doris
Hodgen who celebrated their anniversary
on Saturday.,On Sunday they enjoyed dinner
out in Kincardine.

Thirteen ladies gathered at Camp
Menesetung on a beautiful, warm, sunny
day on September 18 for a picnic lunch at
noon, followed by the meeting which was
also held outside.
Dorothy Pentland brought a recording of
• Gospel Music by John Cash called "Gospel
.4oad" which was a 35 minute singing and
talking record telling the same story as The
Chapter, "Life for the Good People" in the

The program for the Fall Rally outlined a
full day to be held October 3 at Victoria St.
United church in Goderich. Dungannon
ladies are togive the courtesy remarks at
this rally.
Cora Sherwood sent in report on quilt
tickets sold so far totalling $309. It was sug-
gested that tickets be sold on Thanksgiving
weekend at the mall.
• Roberta Lindskill led in a sing song ac-
companying herself on the piano accordion.
She played many old favourites which were
enjoyed by all.

the second meeting of the Dungannon No.
• 1 's Fitness Fare at the Agricultural Grounds
in Dungannon with 10 minutes of warm up
exercises to prepare the girls for their
1600M run test in connection with meeting 3

After the run the girls returned to Bernice
Glenn's home where they continued their
