New principal at C William Kamphu}s has been 'appointed principal of the Lucknow District Chris- tian School and began his term with the: new schooi,yearths month. A graduate of Calvin College,. Michigan with a bachelor of arts degree in history; he attended elementary and, secondary schools in the Christian school system in Toronto. He received his bachelor of education from. the University of Toronto andtaught for five years in Oshawa before being appointed principal in Lucknow. His first impression of the Lucknow Christian School isthat it is small but growing and the board has assembled a fine staff and facility for the education of youngsters. There are several things he hopes to ac-. hrie�ian schoa� coimplish while at the Lucknow school He wants the school to grow by increasing enrollment but also to "grow intellectually:. He wants to offer, agb standard of educa- tion to anyone who gooses:. toaccept it. He also seeks avenues of co-operation with the other schools in the community. Married with a daughter, eightmonth old, Lena Nicole, he and his: wife, Karen, who is also 'a teacher, enjoy canoe tripping in the north. Mr. Kamphius, also enjoys outdoor activities and music.. Raised in Toronto where he workedfor the, past five years, Mr. Kanphius has never lived in a small town "where you could see the other side". Propose rules of order The management committee, which is. -headed by the board's vice chairman, Dr. Brian Hanlon, is also to proposea set of rules of order to govern board meetings. Auxiliary report In her report from the hospital auxiliary,: Marilyn Wood noted there are no fewer than 157 volunteers workingin the ' hospital through the auspices of the auxiliary. She also announced the purchase of various items for the hospital. She told board members that the semi- annual hospital rummage sale is coming up; October 18 and 19.
