On Saturday, August 18, 1984, Mary
Margaret Ferguson passed away in Chatham
public General Hospital. She was . born
gust. 3, 191Q., the daughter of the late
John and Christie Ann MacKinnon, conces-
sibs 5, Kinloss Township. �.
Surviving are three sons, Kinnon and_
Bugh, of Chatham; Donald, of 'Ottawa; and
oue daughter, Donna, Mrs, Garry Koop, of
Victoria, B.C4 also seven grandchildren,
Lori Ann, Peter, . and Kim Ferguson,
Heather and Randy Ferguson, and Kristine
and Lisa Koop. -

Marry (Catherine) Scott of . Hanover, and
Mrs. James (Beth) Lanigan, of .Maynooth,

Normal, School, • She began her teaching
career in, 1929 at .$.. S. N.Q. 4, Greenock
(MacDonald's or Hedley's . School), and..was
the last teacher at S. S. No. 6, Kinloss. (Grey
Ox School) prior to its closing.
While teaching in Lambton County, she
married Wilfred Leitch Ferguson of . Alvin-'
sten. After his death in.1956; she continued
her teaching career, her last school before
retirement in 1975 being on Pelee' Island,
where she commuted by either plane or boat
weekly from Leamington.
Part of her retirement she spent in the
Cedar Grove Apartments. in • Kincardine and
the latter six years she was a resident of the
Thames Towers, Chatham, being confined to
a , wheel chair, , due to arthritis.
The funeral 'service was held. at the
Bowman Funeral Horne, Chatham, on Mon-
day, August 20,1984. Rev. John Neal of

passed away at Wingham. and. District
Hospitalon S'epteniber• 4, 1984 following a
lengthy 'illnessin his 65th year.
A retired farmer, he was also the former
proprietor . of Button's Meat , Market on
Lucknow's main street. He was a member of •
the Lucknow District Liions Club, the Royal
Canadian Legion Branch 309. ' Lucknow,
having seen active service in the': second
world war and a former 'member of Lucknx►
Village .Council on which ' he served from
1949 to 1952.
Born' in. Kinloss Township on May. 26;
1920, he wasa son of the late R. J. Button.
and Roberta Howe. of Luck{iow. He 'married
Freda De. Groat of London zrn 1944.
He ' is survived ' by his wife, three
daughters;. Lynda, Mrs. Jack'•Bilderback and
Margaret (Peggy);. Mrs.: Jerry Klettlte,. both
of Washington State and Donna, Mrs: Brian'
Sanderson of Brussels, . and one. son, Steven
of Lucknow: • •
A sister, Margaret, Mrs, Alex MacNay of
Lucknow and a brother, Harold Button of
Dundas also survive.
He was predeceased by his parents, and
three brothers, John (Jack) of Lucknow;
Ernest of Blyth and' William (Bill) of
Lucknow.' ' : '

Lucknow, held • a memorial •service at,
MaeKeni'ie and McCreath Funeral Home on
September 5, 1984 at 9 p.m. '
The funeral was conducted from the funer-
al home on September 6, 1984 at 2 p.m. by
Rev. Warren McDougall of Lucknow United
Church. ' • '
Flower bearers were Dr.:' Ken MacNay,
Jack Button, Murray Button,David Button,
Jim. Button and John Button'.
Honorary pallbearers .were Clifford .Craw-
ford, Ernie Crawford, Melvin . Dickson, and
Fred Fones.1

Mrs. Lesley Gray (nee Jeanette Ferguson) of
Alvinston.
Robert George Swan of Kincardine
Township .died suddenly in Kincardine and
District General Hospital on Saturday,
September 8 in his 47th year,
He was; born in West'Wawanosh: Township.
August 14, 1938 to the late John and Lena
(England) Swan.
In October of 1959, he married the former
Eleanor Tout of Kincardine. She survives•
him along . with three daughters; P.a�tnela
and Jodie of Kincardine and Julie of Tiver-
ton; and one son, Jamie at home..
The late Mr. Swan is also survived by two
brothers, Harry of Goderieh and Bill of
