Regional Field Day was held at. Gotlerich
District Collegiate Institute track and at
Robertson. School in Goderich,May 31. Kim
Tyler was champion for intermediates and
Laurie Hayden. was runner up. Julie Pent-
land was junior champion . and Jeff Storey
was runner up for Midgets. Congratulations'
to them and to all who participated.
Mr: Sygrove who will be teaching the SLN,
class next year in the portable visited Mrs.
Carroll's, class on Friday,
Mrs. Blanchette's and Mr. Stecca's class
made sheets of paper from little scraps of
paper during this week. Helpers were
Koreen Jurjens, Bonnie Henderson, Jean
McWhinney and Cathy Selent.
Mrs. Blanchette's grade 2 class and Mr.
Stecca's grade 2 class went to the Saugeen
Conservation Area on Friday.
Mrs. Graham's class made home made
books to read to Kindergarten and grade 1.
Mrs. Graham was in the hospital for a couple
of days and Miss Dalton was her substitute.
Mr. Hazlitt's grade 7 class is helping Mrs.
Allen's grade„ 1 class make story books:
On Monday, June 4 the students enjoyed a
dayat home while the teachers had to go to
the school for a professional development
day. They had interviews with parents. They,
also planned classes and time tables for next

Mr. and Mrs. Errington and Mr. rand Mrs.
Farrish were honoured at a - retirement
banquet on June 4 by the Huron County
Board of Education. •
Kindergarten classes went/to Grand Bend
on June S and 6.
The grade 7 class is going to the Bruce
Nuclear Power Development Plant on June
8.
Many classes participated in a poster
display for the Bank of Montreal. The
posters will be in the frank in July for
viewing.
On Tuesday, May 29 the grade 8 class
graduation picture was taken. The grade 8
class is also preparing for their graduation
which is June 25,
Mrs. Worsell's grade 3 class enjoyed a
day at Doon Pioneer Village near Kitchener
on Thursday, May 31. They appreciate the
help of Mrs. Bakker, Mrs. Roberts, and Mrs.
Weaver and Mrs. Cranston for getting their
bus back on time.

Huron-t'erth Separate School. teachers
have given -up a three per cent sairy, in-
crease
ncrease to help the school board cover costs
for additions to three schools.
The board ratified rthe, teachers 1984-85
contract.at its May 28 meeting by a 9-2
recorded vote. Trustees Louis Maloney of
Dublin and Trim McDonnell of. Itit Gad-
shill voted against the agreement. Chair-
.1'Y>ta1119Murray chael Moriartydidn't vote and was absent.ieechairman -
William Kinahan, whose wife is a teacher, ,
declared a conflict of interest and didn't
vote.
The teachers earlier ratified the contract
in a 7242 vote-
"This agreement is unique, if not the first
of IS' kind, irk the province," states a joint
press release from the board and teachers.
In effect, the 155 separate school teachers
will remain at the same salary they are now
receiving.
