"Cave" program. After seeing a slide
presentation We _were able totake.the role of
a spelunker and -explore a cave. We :could
also carve cavemenweaponsand make pic-
tures on a cdirefivall.,
In the afternoon we tock part in the
Bicentennial program: Here we learned
games from Poland, "Trinidad, Portugal and
China. As well we could dress up in
costumes of corturitinitYhelpers. • '
Mrs. Ellis' class also had the Bicentennial
program.. As well we took part in "Children
of Long Ago". We '84w slides of London
pioneer days and., then wevxplorecl The
Gallery. We pretended to be shop -keepers in
the Old General Store. We wrote with a real
quill pen. We pretended to make our lunch in
the pioneer kitchen, and then we rested in
the parlor. What a fun afternoon we had.
Everyone enjoyed a treat at MacDonald's
before starting for home.
Mrs. Collins and Mrs. MacDonald's Grade
Two are working on "Health Helper's.

booklets. They invited Mts: Creighton, our
Community Health Nurse -to vi$141,ithem on
Thursday. We learned that shelad to go to •
school, she helps everyone from babies to
older people and that she Visits five schools
weekly.' Many of us learned that she will
visit our hos when we ned her. She says
she wants to keep our bodies and our minds
healthy; We know what a good nurse she is
by the ways she helps us at our school and
homes. Thank you for visiting us, Mrs.
Creighton.
On Friday, our Grade Two class toured
the Bruce County Museum at Southampton.
We are Studying Pioneers so we were in-
terested in seeing the pioneer clothes, tools
and furniture. The General Store was pack- •
ed with surprises.
We visited inside the pioneer log cabin and
had a spelling bee in the old schoolhouse.
Thanks to Mrs. Cathy Farrell; Mrs. Pattie
Devitt; Mrs. Shirley MacDonald, Mrs. Julie
McGuire -for being our helpers.
