The Dungannon Agricultural Society held
i• ts monthly meeting Tuesday evening, April
24 at the Agricultural Hall.
Treasurer, Lynda McNee, reported a
balance of $718.44 to date, however, this
includes an $800 loan recently borrowed to
cover expenses. Directors will be collecting
donations in the near future to help cover
costs for the fair.
It appears that the ball diamonds will have
a very busy summer as quite a few ball
tournaments have already been booked.
Plans are underway for the seventh annual
slopitch tournament sponsored by . the
Agricultural Society on June 29 and 30 and
July 1. It was agreed to have a free dance on
the Saturday night, again, with music being
supplied by the Star Spinners. The Dungan-
non -Nile Youth Group will have tndvies for
the children on Sunday afternoon, July 1.�
The date for the card party for Agricul-
tural Societies in District 8 has been changed
to Thursday, May 3 at 8 p.m. at the Listowel
Agricultural Hall.
Clete Dalton outlined the regulations for
the Horse Pull which will be held Sunday,
August 12. It was decided to charge the
same price as last year for the Pork
Barbeque :fo be held the same day. Adults
will pay $5 andchildren 11 and under will be
$3, while; pre-schoolers will eat free.

concerning the Fair , Queen . contest and
showed some of the lovely prizes the girls
will. receive..
Grant Johnston was elected to complete
the two year term as director which had been
left vacant upon Olive Chisholm's ` resigna-
tion.
A new class was added to the fair parade
which will start from the United Church
corner at 12 noon, Saturday, August 18. The
Best Pony and Rider or Pony and Cart will
receive prizes of $20, $15 and $10 as will
the:most humorous float, most original float,
the best organization or club and the best
school entry. The best vintage vehicle will
receive $15, $10 and $5. Pre-school and
elementary school children are encouraged
to take part in the parade as all children
receive 50c while the best dressed children
and best decorated riders and vehicles
receive prize of $2.50, 52.00 and $100.
- A pet parade is being planned for the
Friday night of the fair, August 17 at 7 p.m.
Children are invited to bring their pets . to
enter various classes'- for fun and for prizes!
Tickets are to be prepared for a draw on a
card table and four chairs, valued at$219.99
plus tax. Tickets will cost $1 each or 3 for
52.00 and will be available from any director.
The winner will be drawn at the fair.
A Hallowe'en dance will be held Saturday,
October 27 with the "Star • Spinners"
providing the music while "By Special
Request" will play for the New Year's
dance.
The public is always welcome t� attend the
Dungannon Agricultural meetings on the
fourth Tuesday of the month, the next one
being May 22:
