The ladies were 13 acking Christ-
mas cheer boxes for several in the
congregation who have been ill
and a life membership was planned
for presentation at the January
meeting. Members were asked to
take flannelette to the next meet-
ing to cornmence work on the crib
quilt for their allocation to the
bale. The treasurer reported that
the allocation for this group had
been exceeded and forwarded to
the Dominion Board treasurer.
Mrs, Beecroft closed the meet-
ing with the benediction and Mrs..
Kenneth 'Mason and her group
were in charge of :the birthday tea
that -followed.

meeting of the Women's Institute
was held on Tuesday last, in the
Memorial hall, with 13 ladies pre-
sent .and with the president, Mrs.
Garnet Farrier, presiding. After
the opening exercises it was agreed

fugee Fund, opening in the new
year, The ladies paid for 20 chairs
they had, purchased lor the hall,
Mrs, Farrier Invited the society
to meet next month at her home
and Mrs. Johnston Conn and Mrs,
Farrier would then demonstrate
different dishes for the "Third
Meal",
Mrs. Walter Lott gave a splendid
report of the Institute Cenference
she attended as a delegate at Owen
Sound, where over 800 delegates
attended from this new area. All
joined in singing carols,
Mrs. lVfillan Moore gave a Christ-
mas meditation on the refugee
problem, stressing the help that
must be given to the families of
the 100 TB patients that will come
to Canada next year for medieal
treatment and rehabilitation:
Mrs, Dan Tiffin gave an inter-
esting demonstration of her cro-
chet work and described the 'dif-
ferent sugar or starch rmethods
used to harden the finished articles,
The roll call was answered by con-
tributions for the boxes to' be giv-
en to the elderly 'people of this
community. The meeting closed
with the national anthem and Miss
Annie Kennedy and Mrs. Dan 'Tif-
fin were hostesses. They served a
-dainty lunch of fruit loaf and
Christmas cake with tea.
Mrs. Lott, Mrs. Victor Emerson
and Mrs, Ezra Scholtz later pack-
ed 20 boxes with Christmas treats
and these have all been distributed.

ers, the bride's sister-in-law, sang

ding Prayer".

with a matching headband trimmed
with rhinestones., She -carried yel-'
low roses and white mums.
A ,blne, .lace end net over taf-
feta 'dress was worn by 'Miss Isa-
bel Struthers, sister ,of the 'bride,
whd.was the bridesmaid. She wore
a matching headband, similar to-
that of the matron of honor and
carried pink roses and white mums.
Clarence * ColliS'on, of Greenock,
was the iroorriernan and the ush-
ers were Williarn. Struthers add
Gerald Benninger.
The 'wedcling,•dinner was .theld .at
Pleasurf Valley Lodge, Hanover,
at five o'clock with a reception in
the evening atthe ComMunity' hall
in Formosa. Guests were present
from Formosa, Kitchener, Harris-
ton,- Guelph, Walkerton and Bel-
more.
For a trip to the United 'States
the bride wore royal blue nylon
sheer over a taffeta skirt with a,
crinoline, a -matching blue .fea,ther,
hat, black accessories and a grey
'fur jacket, Her corsage ,.was of
yellow roses.
