Alvin Sinith's.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Darling of
Newcastle spent the week-end with
Mrs,. Stanley Darling,
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Smith were
visitors with friends in Listowel.
Jas. C. McDonald
Dies in Accident
A head-on Collision -on No, 21
Highway one and a half miles
north of Amberley took the life of
James C. McDonald, 65, of R.R. 4,
Ripley on Saturday evening, Death
was reportedly caused by head in-
juries.
Mrs. McDonald received Multiple
fractures, and their daughter, Ca-
therine, 15, 'suffered a broken left
leg and a son, Allan, 13, facial la-
cerations and a broken arm when
he was thrown through the wind-
shield, They were taken to the
Kincardine hospital and Mrs. Mc-
Donald was later removed to Vic-
toria Hospital in London.
The driver of the second 'ear,
Arthur Roulston, 36, was also ad-
mitted to Eineardine Hospital with
a eoinpound fracture of the loft leg
and ehest and facial injuries,
According to the police Mr. Mc-
Donald was travelling north when
he met the oncoming ear in his
own lane.
Surviving besides the injured
members Of the family are two
sons, Douglas and Donald at home;
a brother, john, of Huron Town-
ship and two sisters, Mrs, Winnl-
fred Watson, 'of Huron 'township
and Mrs. Albert Stewart, Xinear-
dine,
Mrs. McDonald is the former pla-
net Mundell, who spent her early
life in 131tievale. tier brother,
Hugh ,Mundell, lives hi Wingham

sionar3r Society of Knox United
Church held an• evening serVied in
the church on Sunday, with a good
turnout, Mrs. Walter Scott, assist-
ed by Mrs, Williard Armstrong,
conducted ,the service. Mrs. Scott
gave a short address on Temper-
ance. A film on Africa was shown.
The men's choir, under the direc-
tion of Roy Mundy; . supplied the
music for the service.

BELGRAVE—The Sewing 'Susies
4-H Homemaking Club held their
sixth meeting at the home of their
leader, Mrs. J. H. Irwin, on Mon-
day. The meeting opened with the
national anthem, followed by the
4-H pledge arid motto, The roll'
call, "How I store my small ac-
cessories", was answered by five
members. - •
The- assistant leader, Mrs, Par-
don, demonstrated how 'to make
a sectional box. Miss Bette Till-
man, home economist, was present
at this meeting and. 'showed the
girls how to make shoe packs, She
also led the discussion on, the stor-
age of wool, fur and feathers. In-
formation regarding Achievement
Day was given.
The home assignments are: work
on unfinished articles; collect ma-
terials; complete .record book to
date; .Complete section box, The
roll call for the next meet-
ing, Which is slated for December
