WHITECHURCH—The monthly
meeting of the Women's Institute
was held on Tuesday of last week
in the memorial hall with the pre-'
sident, Mrs. Garnet Farrier, pre-
siding, After the opening exer-
cises. the ladies decided to order 50
souvenir spoons and sell them here.
Mrs. Walter Lott was appointed
delegate to the meeting at Owen
Sound in November, and the next
meeting and pot-luck supper will
be held November 9. The ladies
decided to hold a euchre in the
hall, Mrs.. Johnston Conn played
a piano solo.
Miss Ruth Thomson of Lucknow,
Bruce County Health nurse, was
then introduced and gave a splen-
did talk 'on the word "Health", us-
ing H for habits, E for eating, A
for accidents, L for love, T for
teeth and , H for home. She spoke
of the necessity of forming 'good
habits in all these phases and wat-
ching for the small accidents. that
happen in homes and the merits ,of
making. a house a real home. She
was given a hearty vote of appre-
ciation.
Mrs. 'Miller gave a humorous
reading on old-fashioned ,cures.
Mrs, Ezra Scholtz played a piano
solo. Mrs. Ernest Beecroft gave
the motto, "Whether a fellow ends
up. with a goose egg or a nest egg,
depends on the chick he marries",
Twenty-one mystery packages
were on the table and as the ladies
answered the roll call each claim-
ed a parcel. Mrs. George Fisher

Friday at the Ploughing Match at
Hamilton. Wilfred Walker, and

Clarence attended the Anniversary
services at St. Helens on Sunday
