The RCAF Golden Hawks pre-
ciSior jot, aerobatic team will be
the, feature 'attraction Saturday,
September 19th when RCAF "Sta-
tions, Clinton and Centralia pool
their resources' at Centra'ia to
stage the biggest ground. and air
show ever held in% this area.
The occasion is. Air Force Day
1959, which this year is dedicated
to, celebrating the 50th anniversary
of powered flight "in Canada and
the 35th birthday of the RCAF.
The Centralia show will be the
only one of its kind which will =be
open to the genera] public this year.
In addition to a really outstand-
ing aerial display, ground exhibits
of aircraft will encompass' more
RCAF aircraft than have dyer been
shown in the past,
Although no op'en house will be
held at RCAF Station Clinton, a
host of ground displays embracing
activities of No. 1 Radar and Com-
xnunications School and No. 1
School of Food Services will be
shown 'in Centralia.
Station Centralia will open its
gates to the public at .1 p.m.
Grotind displays will be in opera-
tion continuously from that time
until the close of the show at 4.30
in the afternoon.
Headliners of the aerial show
will' be the RCAF Golden Hawks,
'one of the world's outstanding
acrobatic teams, The Golden
Hawks have provided thrilling
aerial displays across Canada in
the past four months' and have
been.- received with great acclaim
everywhere.. Their show at Cen-
tralia, will, he the last in this year's
schedule.,
Along With the Golden Hawks'
flying display will be staged by
approximately 35 other RCAF air-

craft . including the famed "Red
Knight?' solo Shooting Star jet dis-
play. Other features will include
sky-writing, smoke-trailing jets
performing bomb bursts, formatiOn
flying,. the giant . Argus Maritime
aircraft, Neptune Patrol bombers,
Flying Bbxcar, parachute drop-
ping, helicopter pick-ups, jet assist-
ed take-Offs and other outstanding
aerial.performances.
Most of these aircraft will also be
seen on the ground including Sub-
marine Killing Argus, the biggest
aircraft ever built in Canada. An-
other outstanding ground display
will be the 'Silver Dart, an RCAF-
built replica of the first airplane to
tly in the British Empire. This is
an exact cony of the one flown at
Baeddeek, Nova Scotia, fifty years
ago by J. A. D. McCurdy,' now
,Lieutenant Governor of the Pro-
vince of Nova Scotia, in company
with such oustanding figures as
Alexander Graham Bell and air-
craft designer Glen' Curtiss.

meterological gear, ground defence
equipment, radar and a' host of
others, Outstanding displays from
Clinton Will include a radio-con.
trolled robot man, a radio-control-
led car and many others showing
all 'aspects of training in Canada's
largest electronics school..

The Whitechureh Midgets arc
leading the best-of-five series for
WOAA championship against the
Artnow boys, The series now
stands at two wins and a tie for
Whitechureh compared with one
win and the other half of -the tie
for the team from' the north.
. On Monday night of last week
the Whitechureh squad .eked out
a narrow decision with a final
count of 3-2, On Wednesday night
the Armow team was in White-
church .for the second encounter
which finished with two runs each
and darkness prevented another
inning to break the dbadlock.
Friday evening the Whitechureh
team really outhit their competi-
tors and romped home with a 10-7
victory.
It was another story on Monday
night of this week however, for the

Armow lads tightened their defen-
sive play and came from behind
to take the top half of a 7-6 deci-
sion.
The next and perhaps deciding
game will ibe played in Armow to-
night (Wednesday) and if another'
match is needed it will be played
in Whitechurch on. Friday.
