Hawthorne, who died in Wingham
Hospital August 3rd,
Mrs, Hawthorne was a resident
of Turnberry Township end had
been ill for some time. 'She was
borne in Culross Twp., Bruce
County in 1875, a daughter of John
Campbell and Sydney Montgomery,
Her husband predeceased her, in

Dies in Westminster
A patient in Westminster Hos-
pital for the past 18 years, Harry
M, Bradley, died on July 30th. He
was 73,
His parente'were the late William
Bradley and Elizabeth Coots. Hi
was born in Wingham and was a
member of the Roman Catholic
Church,
A painter and finisher by trade
Mr. Bradley enlisted in the 334
Regiment, 1st Battalion CEF
1915 and served 'overseas .during
World War I, He had been in
poor health ever since,
He is survived by a brother,
John Bradley and four sisters,
Mi lls Emma Bradley, Mrs. Nellie
Angus, Mrs. Margaret Haller and
Mrs, Tressa Forsyth, all of Wing-
ham.
Branch 180, Canadian Legion,
held a service at the R. A. Currie
& Sons funeral home on Friday
evening at 7,30. Rev. G. J.
Frecker conducted mass at Sacred
Heart Church on Saturday morn-
ing at 'ten o'clock with, interment
follciwing in the R.C, cemetery,
Wingham.
Members of the local branch of
the Canadian Legion were pall-
bearers.
Robert J. McLennan
Was Born in Grey
Robert James McLennan died
suddenly at his home on the 2nd
concession of Morris on Tuesday,
August 4th in his 71st year,
He was born and educated in
Grey Township and was a son of
the late Mr, and Mrs. John Mc-
Lennan, In 1921 he moved to
Morris Township where he follow-
ed the occupation of 'farming and
on September 9, 1925, married Mrs.
Ida .E. Milligan of Calgary at
Bluevale. He was a member of
Bluevale United Church.
Mr. McLennan is survived by his
wife and three children, J. Stew.:
art McLennan of R.R. 4, •Wingham,
Mrs. C. (Jean) ThYnne of Brus
sels and A. Scott lateLennan at
home, There are two step children,
Mrs. C. (Mossie) Jones, Wingham
and Howard Milligan of Calgary,
a sister, Miss Jane McLennan and
a brother, Andrew, both of Ethel.
The funeral services were con-
ducted by Mr. Alan H. Neelon at;
Bluevale United Church on Thurs-.
day, with interment in Molesworth'
cemetery. Pallbearers were Spar-

Campbell Robertson and Addison .

Leonard Rush Was
Hardware Executive
Leonard Rush, 66, of Toronto,
died early Sunday morning, Aug.
2nd in Torontq East General Hos-
pital. Mr. Rush •had been in poor
health for several years
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
William Rush, he was born here
and attended Wingham Public
School, finishing his education in
Toronto. At a very early age he
entered the hardware business in
Toronto and was employed by Mr.
Greet, 'A short time later he open-
ed 'a hardware 'business of his own
at Birchcliff. He then sold out to
his brother, Nelson Rush, and in-
vested in White's Hardware, a
Wholesale 'concern of which 'he Was
a director, Mr, Rush retired ten
years ago.
He was interested in curling 'and
Was a member of the Royal Can-
adian Curling Club
Mr, Rush is survived by hie wife;
Mildred Florence Rush, two daugh-
ters, Mrs, R., E, (Beryle) Pereell
of Peinbroke and IVirs. R. (Mar,'
garet) Porterfield of Guelph and a
son Carl, of Torento. There are
three Sisters, Mrs, Gtis (Edith)
Boyle and Mrs, Janet Buchanan,
both Of Wingham and Mrs. Laura
Young of Toronto and a brother,
Nelson 3, Rush, also of Toronto.
Mr, Rush Was predeceased sev-
eral years 'ago by a nine-year-old
son, Elmer, Three sisters, Mrs.

Wingham General Hospital on Sate
urdey, August nth, following a long
illness,
Mrs. Fryfogle was the former
Shirley Winnifred Colvin and was
born in Teeswater 51 years ago,
lief parents were the late Mr. and
Mrs, Jelin Colvin, She attended
Teeswater Public School and Wing-
ham Business College.
Mr. and Mrs. Fryfogle resided in
Wingham, and moved to Toronto
only a year or so ago. She is suia

Wingham, and two sons, Jerry .of
Toronto, and Barry of Wingham.
She also leaves a sister, Mrs.

Wingliam. A brother, George, of
British eoltimbia, pi'edeceased her.
There are six grandchildren,
The funeral was yesterday (Tues-
day) afternoon at two o'clock from
the - S,' J. • Walker funeral home.
Rev. T. G. Husser of Wingham
United Church conducted the ser-
vice, Interment was in Wingham
cemetery,.
The pallbearers were,Bill Reavie,
William McGlynn, Bobby Colvin,
Doug Mundy, Duff Colvin. and
Glenn Ruhl.
Gordon' L; Fowler
Buried Last Week
Funeral services were held Aug-
ust 4th in Evansville, Ind., for
Specialist 'Gordon Lee Fowler, 20,
who was drowned in flood waters
in Koreaon July Th.
The service was conducted by the
chaplain, Capt. Keyes, of the 101st
Airborne Ft. Gordon was attached
to the 2nd Airborne Battle Group,
187th Infantry, 101st Airborne and
pallbearers, firing squad and bug-
lers were also members.
Full military honors were given
and an escort had accompanied the
body from 'Korea. He is survived by
his wife, Helen Joyce, two children
Marcia Lynn and Brian Kelly, of
Evansville, Ind.; his. mother, Mrs.
Irving Lent, Brussels, Ont,, 'and his
father, John L. Fowler, Newark,
N.J.
It will . be remembered that
Gordon slipped and 'fell into flood
waters while taking pictures in a
gorge in Korea,
and Mrs. Annie Strohm and Mrs.
Emma Perrin, who resided in To-
ronto, also- predeceased him.
The funeral was held from the
Trull funeral home on Tuesday af-
ternoon with interment in St.
John's cemetery, Norway.
