Wed in Kitchener
On Saturday afternoon at two
o'clock, Shirley Gail Armstrong
and William Douglas Clark, of
Wingham, were united in marriage
at, the Salvation Army Quarters in
Kitchener.
Captain Albert Browning per-
formed the ceremony, Mrs, G. S
Newman was the bride's attendant
and Envoy G. S. Newman attended
the 'gram.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Nelson Armstrong and
and 'the groom's parents are Mr.
and .Mrs. Joseph Clark, all of
Wingham,
Mr. and, Mrs. 'Clark left on a trip
to the Georgian Bay district and
will take up residence in'Wingham.

The president, Mrs. Gordon Bos
man, was in charge and opened the
meeting with a hymn and the
Lord's prayer in unison. Minutes
were read by Mrs Clarence Hanna
and the treasurer's report was read
by Mrs. Robert Grashy. • The visits
to the sick and shut-in were re-
corded,
Mrs. Kenneth Barbour's group,
was in charge of the worship Ser-•
vice. She was assisted by Mrs.
Ross Anderson and Mrs. Norman
Cook.
An enjoyable time was spent at
the beach. and lunch of sandwiches,.
cooki6s, ice-cream and tea was
served,

'the home of the leader, Mrs. W.' T.
Lapp on Monday evening., The
meeting opened with "0 Canada",
followed by the 4-H pledge .and
motto repeated in unison. The
minutes of the last meeting, read
by Betty Ann Lapp, were adopted
as read. Eight ,rnenibers.answred
the roll call, one improvement' each
member has made or intends .,fo

concerning visits to the garden,-and
Achievement Day were read. ,De-
tails about skits and demonstra;
bons were given and Achievement
Day programs distributed. Achieve-
ment Day for this area is to be
held on August 25 In the Wingham
Distfict High School. Referende
Files were also discussed. .•
The main topic_ ,fog th.lneeting
was "Floral Arrangement'. ,The
assistant leader, Mrs. Hutton, gave
a' demonstration in the arrange-
ment of„, a dining room and' living
room: banquet and each of the
girls arranged one for a dining
room table.

week at Hanna's cottage at Elliott's
